A socket holder with a built in locking mechanism that is user controlled and activated by a push button which controls internal locking mechanisms which allow this socket holder to securely store and transport sockets mounted to a main socket holder body. This socket holder can hold multiples of sockets to the main socket holder body, releasing them only when desired by the user with the push of the push button that controls the internal mechanisms which release the sockets from the main socket holder body. This socket holder is designed to organize and securely lock the sockets onto the main socket holder body in a way that is dependable and easy to use.

The drill bit holding region defines a recess with a first channel to receive a portion of the drill bit. The front clip further includes a window extending between the front and rear side to view the drill bit. The window extends away from the drill bit holding region in a longitudinal direction of the front clip. The packaging assembly further includes a back clip that is separate from the front clip. The back clip includes a second channel. The back clip is secured to the front clip to hold the drill bit within the first and second channels.

Holder for a Bit of a Tool

A holder for a bit for a tool is provided. The holder comprises: a bearing shaped to securely hold the bit; and a housing attached to the bearing and to a clip. In the holder, when the housing is attached to the clip, the bit may be mounted to the tool and the tool may be operated to rotate the bit; and when the bit is removed from the tool, the bit is still attached to the housing which is still attached to the clip. The housing may be shaped and sized to provide a friction fit to securely hold the outer ring. A cable may attach the housing to the clip.

Tool bit storage system

A drill bit cooling system is provided. After drilling use, the drill tip of a drill bit reaches higher temperatures than a shank or flute of the drill bit. Compartments are provided that are sized in length and width (diameter) to accommodate the drill bit and a cover or back plate with an increased melting temperature facilitates the storage of hot drill tip. By using different components to construct the drill bit holder, a lightweight and versatile cooling system permits the drill bit to be rapidly interchanged on a power tool or drill, without melting through the storage device. This helps the operator interchange drill bits while working on a workpiece without waiting for each drill bit to cool prior to storing and replacing the drill bit.

A plurality of socket holders are positioned in and slidingly engage the channel. Each socket holder has a detent assembly for releasably locking a socket. A plurality of clip members are attached to the rail assembly or to mounting posts. The clip members have socket identification indicia and are positioned over the mounting posts by way of an aperture. A positioning mechanism is provided for selectively positioning individual socket holders in the channel.
