FLATWARE STRUCTURED TO AVOID TABLE CONTACT
An eating utensil has a handle and a food handling portion connected to the handle. A stand elevates the food handling portion above a substantially flat surface. The stand has a pair of flap members, wherein each flap member extends down and away from the handle. Each flap sized to allow a user to apply pressure on an edge of the handle.
KNIFE WITH EXTENDED HANDLE GRIP PORTION
A knife with an extended handle includes one side of the handle, either as part of the original structure or bonded or welded to that original structure, that projects or extends forward onto the base of the knife blade on one side thereof, thereby providing a gripping surface for the user's thumb, and onto or alongside the spine of the knife blade to provide a proximal phalanx platform for the user's forefinger. The spine may have a notch formed therein proximal, and wherein the finger platform rests in or alongside the notch. The finger platform may have a concave surface contour, and the concave surface contour may be coextensive with the notch.
Kitchen knife
Knives, handles for knives, and a method for making a knife are disclosed. In one example, a knife comprises a handle that includes a flat top surface, two upper chamfers, a flat bottom surface, and two curving sides. The top surface, the two chamfers, bottom surface, and two sides form a six-sided cross section shape. The width of the handle further varies along its length. A blade fastened to the handle comprises a tip at a distal end and a pinch radius configured to accommodate a user's finger. A spine is continuous with the handle's top surface and tapers from the handle to the tip. A cutting edge tapers along the length of the blade from the pinch radius to the tip. A bolster is between the handle and the blade and comprises a six-sided cross section shape that substantially matches the shape of the handle.

Portable food service assembly
A portable food service assembly includes a support and a plate non-threadedly attached to, and detached from, the support. The assembly includes eating utensils and accessories, and can readily be carried by an individual from one place to another with one hand, and can be readily supported and held without tipping on a support surface, including in a compartment of a cupholder. All the components of the assembly are disposable, biodegradable, and, if desired, reusable.

Knife with integral hollow tang
A knife 10 includes a blade 12 and an integral hollow tang 17 configured to accommodate items therein. At least one rib 25, 26 projects outwardly from at least part of the hollow tang 17 and extends axially at least part way along the tang 17. One or more separately formed handle components 30 is mounted on the tang 17 and connected to the at least one rib 25, 26.

Resilient cutlery handle
A cutlery implement having a blade and resilient handle is disclosed. The blade has a proximal end, an opposed distal end, a cutting edge and a spine. The spine is disposed on a top side of the blade portion and generally opposed to the cutting edge. The cutlery implement also includes a handle coupled to the blade proximate the distal end of the blade. The handle includes an upper handle portion and a lower handle portion. The upper handle portion is disposed at or near the spine of the blade, and the lower handle portion is coupled to the upper handle portion. Either the upper handle portion or the lower handle is formed from a resilient polymer material, and the other is formed of a generally rigid material. A cavity containing a gel is defined between the lower handle portion and the upper handle portion.
