UTILITY KNIFE
A utility knife includes a handle base and a neck connected to the handle base for pivotal movement relative to the handle base between a closed position and an open position. The knife also includes a utility blade holder slidingly carried by the neck for sliding movement relative to the neck between a retracted position and an extended position. A utility blade is carried by the blade holder such that movement of the utility blade holder between its extended and retracted positions moves the utility blade between an exposed position in which a cutting edge of the blade is exposed, and a protected position in which the cutting edge of the blade is protected by the neck.
UTILITY KNIFE WITH REPLACEABLE BLADES AND RELOADABLE BLADE MAGAZINE
A device is disclosed including a reloadable utility knife having a blade magazine with one or more compartments for storing multiple cutting blades. The blade magazine has a reloading compartment for new blades, and a storage compartment to keep additional blades. The blade magazine is loaded from the rear of the knife body and is locked inside. A working blade may be released before reloaded a fresh blade. The working blade can be extended or retracted multiple times via a blade transport mechanism. The blade magazine may be extracted via the lock mechanism and pushed out by a spring designed for this purpose. The blade transport mechanism, the blade release mechanism, and a blade lock mechanism work in cooperation to allow extension and retraction of a blade, disposing of a blade, and reloading of a blade.
UTILITY INSTRUMENT AND A METHOD OF USING SAME
A utility instrument is in the form of a cutting tool suitable for fitting onto a user's finger. The tool has a blade and a sheath, both coupled to a mounting structure. The blade and sheath are pivotable with respect to each other. A user can wear the tool on a finger about a finger joint. The user can bend the finger to set the tool to an open condition to expose the blade for use, and can stretching the finger to set the tool to a closed condition to safely shade the blade using the sheath. The tool may further have a housing for fully receiving the blade. The blade may extend out of the housing for use, and may be retracted into the housing for safety.
Safety cutter
The present invention relates to a safety cutter including a housing which receives a trigger, a transmission member, a pusher, a blade carrier and a blade. The transmission member is engaged operatively with the trigger via a gear assembly. The gear assembly allows the safety cutter to move the blade outward for a longer distance than conventional safety cutters. To prevent the gear assembly and the trigger rack portion from being displaced by tension generated during cutting, a first limiting member and a pair of second limiting members are provided in the housing. The blade carrier is releasably engaged with the transmission member to achieve automatic retraction of the blade into the housing after the blade leaves the cutting surface even if the trigger is not released.
Safety Cutter Apparatus and System
A cutter apparatus includes a housing sized to be hand-held, the housing including a channel and openings adjacent to the channel at three different sides of the housing, and a blade carrier sized to fit within and slide along the channel, the blade carrier including three engaging portions that extend from the openings such that a force bearing upon any of the portions can cause the blade carrier to slide along the channel.
Heated utility knife
A heated utility knife is disclosed for heating a material to be cut in order to soften the material before cutting the material. The heated utility knife is made of a knife portion that has a blade with a distal cutting edge, and a heat source configured to direct heat to a region adjacent the cutting edge. The heat source has a head portion which sits below the cutting blade. Pulling the cutting edge across a material to be cut allows heat from said heat source to be directed to the material to be cut to soften the material prior to cutting.
MULTI LOCK MEMBER KNIFE BLADE RELEASE
A utility knife includes a housing and a slidable blade assembly configured to selectively receive a removable blade in a blade channel thereof and to slide relative to the housing, such that the removable blade is stored within the housing when the slidable blade assembly is in a retracted position, and a portion of the blade extends outwardly from the housing when the slidable blade assembly is in an extended position. The slidable blade assembly comprises a plurality of notch engaging protrusions configured to move to selectively enter the blade channel to engage one or more notches of the removable blade. The housing comprises a blade release actuator configured to move or permit movement of the plurality of notch engaging protrusions out of the blade channel to permit removal of the removable blade from the slidable blade assembly.
UTILITY KNIFE BUTTON
A utility knife button includes a connecting portion and a pressing portion connected to a top end of the connecting portion. The connecting portion is extended along a reference axis and has a connecting end disposed at a bottom end thereof along the reference axis. The pressing portion has a front edge and a rear edge along a radial direction of the reference axis. A top edge of the pressing portion opposite to the connecting portion is provided with a pressing surface. A first length is defined from a proximal end of the pressing surface adjacent to the front edge to the connecting end along the reference axis. A second length is defined from a distal end of the pressing surface adjacent to the rear edge to the connecting end along the reference axis. The first length and the second length are not equal.
Utility knife
A utility knife has a housing, a blade holder movable between a front position and a rear position in the housing, and first and second return formations of which one is mounted on the housing and the other on the blade holder. The first and second return formations urge the blade holder into the rear position relative to the housing in at least one region of movement of the blade holder. The first return formation includes a spring and a movable element connected to the spring and urged thereby in a travel direction of the movable element. The second return formation includes a counter surface engageable with the movable element.
Knife
The invention relates to a knife including a housing (11) inside which a blade holder (15) is movably mounted. The blade holder (15) comprises a main part (17) and least one holding part (18) which is movable between a holding position and a in replacement position. In the holding position, a blade (16) can be tightly retained in a replaceable manner in a blade seat between a first holding surface (46) of the main part (17) and a second holding surface (45) of the holding part (18), while in the replacement position, the blade (16) can be removed from the blade seat or a new blade can be mounted in the blade seat. The invention is characterized in that in at least one relative position of the blade holder (15) to the housing (11), the blade holder (15) is biased against a stop (21) by a restoring force, and in that the holding part (18) can be moved into the blade replacement position by having an abutment surface (24) on the stop (21) cooperate with a mating surface (25) on the blade holder (15).
