A film cutter includes: a body unit having a gripping portion, a receiving portion, pivotal portion, a sliding portion, an access slit, and a film feeding opening; a movable knife having a pivotal connection portion pivotally disposed at the pivotal portion, and a cutting portion; an operating unit having a sliding portion disposed at the sliding portion of the body unit, an operating portion for driving the sliding portion, a knife controlling portion for actuating the movable knife to rotate about the pivotal portion and thus allow the cutting portion to be exposed from or to retract into the access slit; two blades disposed in the body unit and each having a sharp edge tilted at an angle relative to and corresponding in position to the film feeding opening; and a guide member mounted on the body unit and corresponding in position to the film feeding opening.

Utility cutter assemblies, components for use in the assemblies, and related methods of manufacturing are provided. More specifically, utility cutter assemblies, components for use in the assemblies, and related methods of manufacturing that incorporate antimicrobial materials are provided.

The utility knife assembly includes a housing which extends in a longitudinal direction between opposite ends and presents an at least partially open interior. A blade with a sharp edge is fixed with the housing such that the blade extends through one of the longitudinal ends, and the blade is fixed with the housing in such a manner that it is non-movable relative to the housing. A blade protector is partially disposed in the open interior of the housing and is movable in the longitudinal direction relative to the housing between a retracted position and a covering position. In the retracted position, the sharp edge of the blade outside of the housing is exposed for cutting, and in the covering position, the sharp edge of the blade outside of the housing is covered by the blade protector.

The present invention generally relates to a safety cutter. Specifically, embodiments of the present invention relate to a compact safety cutter apparatus with a retractable blade guard. Embodiments of the safety cutter apparatus are further comprised of an automatic blade guard release mechanism.

The present invention describes an invention called the “Handheld Powered Box Cutter” which makes it much easier and faster to cut up cardboard packaging and boxes. It uses a handheld ergometric compact design and uses a rechargeable battery-operated motor, to drive a protected rapidly oscillating cutting blade, to ease the task of slicing various thicknesses of cardboard. The cutting blade is housed within a hooked protective cutting slot area. This slot allows pieces of cardboard to be slid into a rapidly oscillating cutting blade and it protects human fingers from being cut by the blade.

A cushion back cutter is formed from a first side plate, a second side plate, and a center plate between the first and second side plates. The center plate includes a slot that forms a blade holding pocket with a bottom opening to receive one or more blades. A blade clamp is inserted into the blade clamp opening of the first side plate, and a blade clamp fastener tightens to cause the blade clamp to press the blades against the second side plate to hold the blades in position. The center side plate forms a row guide for guiding the blades of the cutter between adjacent rows of carpet tufts. The row guide may include a region having continuous notches, which tend to move the carpet tufts out of the path of the blades to avoid shearing them.

A motorized joint filler scraper or shaver that rapidly and smoothly shaves joint filler flush to a floor. Aspects may include a blade attachment component that allows the blade to rotate relative to the frame of the shaver, allowing the blade to maintain contact with uneven surfaces and to be rotated to avoid dulling the blade through use of a single side. Further aspects may include an operator platform that allows the operator to ride along with the scraper.

Safety knife with a blade that can be replaced and where access to the cutting edge of the blade is limited so as to reduce the risk of injury to a user, comprising a blade piece with a blade arranged between a guard and a fixation and an oblong knife body comprising a holder and a partly flat insert for rigidly holding the blade piece near a proximal end, wherein said insert having rails on both sides of the flat part at least near the proximal end, said holder including a depression near the proximal end for receiving the fixation and a channel extending from the proximal end towards the distal end at least beyond the depression for receiving at least the flat part of the insert, said channel having grooves on each side starting at the proximal end for receiving the rails.

A lightweight, handheld screen trimmer (10, 20, 30, 40) which aids in trimming excess screen (340) and also in removing, tucking in, and trimming spline (320). The screen trimmer (10, 20, 30, 40) assists in several tasks relating to removing, replacing and installing screening (330) in a screen frame (300).

A box top opener employs a trapezoidal ceramic blade having a cutting edge which is positionable at multiple positions. A knob is rotatable to extend and retract the blade. A guide projects from a front of the cutter body to provide a guide surface engageable against the top of a box. In one embodiment, a blade carrier has a follower which traverses a spiral track for displacing the blade.
