ROOF CUTTER
20200325687 · 2020-10-15 ·

A roof cutter and a method of cutting a roof is provided. The roof cutter includes a base that is movable between a retracted configuration and a cutting configuration. In the retracted configuration, the blade is displaced from the roof. In the cutting configuration, the blade is positioned so as to facilitate cutting of the roof. The roof cutter includes a stop assembly and an engagement member that is configured to engage with the stop assembly when the base is in the cutting configuration, thereby establishing a maximum cutting depth. A dampening mechanism softens impacts associated with the blade moving to the cutting depth and absorbs vibrations associated with cutting the roof at the cutting depth. An adjustment assembly is configured to selectively adjust the cutting depth and/or to selectively restrain the base in the retracted configuration, thereby preventing the blade from cutting the roof.

Handheld Razor Cutter Apparatus

A handheld razor cutter apparatus for cutting and trimming materials such as screens includes a blade housing coupled to a handle. The handle is coupled to a top plate of the blade housing such that it secures the blade housing in a horizontal position. A bottom plate is selectively engageable with a bottom side of the top plate to secure a razor blade therebetween. The razor blade has an edge encompassed by the perimeter of the bottom plate. The blade housing has a plurality of notches extending through the perimeter. The edge of the razor blade is sharpened on at least a plurality of exposed portions defined by the plurality of notches of the blade housing to perform cuts.

A cutting device comprising: a housing containing a cutting blade with a portion of the cutting blade extending from the housing; a safety guard having an end positioned proximate to the cutting blade portion extending from the housing; and a spring-biased safety guard release connected to an elongated member, the elongated member in communication with an arcuate, flat spring extending from a second end of the safety guard. In this manner, as soon as pressure is released from the cutting blade, the safety guard returns to its home position even if the safety guard release button is still being pressed. Thus, the cutting blade is only fully exposed without the safety guard in place when the cutting blade is being used to cut an article.

Cushion back cutter with internal blade holder

A cushion back cutter includes finger holes that are shaped to make blade changes and adjustments faster and easier. The cushion back cutter includes a center plate with a recess forming a blade pocket for holding a slotted razor blade. The center plate includes a finger opening for removing a slotted razor blade. The finger opening, which may be non-circular, crosses an upper wall of the blade pocket that supports the blade. A first side plate attached to a first side of the center plate covers the blade pocket in the center plate, and includes a blade window for removing a slotted razor blade from the blade pocket of the center plate. A second side plate is attached to a second side of the center plate, which also includes a finger opening.
