A utility knife includes a housing pivotally fixed with a blade holder that can move between a retracted position with the blade holder at least partially contained within the housing, and an extended position. A spring clip spans at least partially across the blade holder and traverses a spring clip slot to engage a notch of a utility blade held within the blade holder. When pressed upwardly, the spring clip clears the notch of the blade, releasing the blade within the blade holder such that the blade can be pulled out of and away from the blade holder. In use, with the blade holder in the retracted position, the blade holder can be moved into the extended position by pressing against the actuator section of the spring clip. The utility knife can be used in this manner with either the left or right hand.

The invention relates to a knife with a housing (11) and with a blade holder (13) for holding a blade (17), the blade holder (13) being movable between a safety position in which the blade (17) is inaccessible within the housing (11) and a cutting position in which the blade (17) projects at least partially out of the housing (11), the cutting position being defined by the interaction of at least one stop surface (32a, 32b) associated with the housing (11) and at least one counterpart surface (23a, 23b) associated with the blade holder (13).

A hand-held safety cutting device that facilitates an operator cutting a material without having to tilt the cutting device while cutting and minimizing the operator exposure to the cutting blade pivotally connected therein. The device includes a biased safety slide which must first be placed in an enabling state before the operator can depress a biased activator to pivotally-extend a portion of the blade out of the housing bottom to permit cutting or scoring the material. The blade is releasably installed in a blade holder that is pivotally-biased. The operator must maintain pressure on the activator during cutting/scoring. Once pressure is released on the activator, the blade immediately pivots into the housing and the safety slide moves to a disabling state, preventing any depression of the activator. A cover provides access to install different razor blade types. Another embodiment includes a storage that permits additional blades and blade holders to be stored therein.

A scraper includes a cover, a first clamping member, a second clamping member, and a locking device. The cover has a connection portion and an insertion protrusion. The first clamping member has a first through groove, and the second clamping member has a second through groove. The locking device has a sliding portion slidably arranged in the first through groove and the second through groove. The connection portion of the cover is detachably connected to the side of the first clamping member opposite to the second clamping member, and the insertion protrusion inserts through the first through groove and the second through groove and is detachably coupled with the second clamping member.

A scraper includes a cover, a first clamping member and a second clamping member. The cover has a connection portion and an insertion protrusion. The first clamping member has a first clamping portion and a first through groove. The second clamping member has a second clamping portion and a second through groove. The connection portion of the cover is detachably connected to one side of the first clamping member opposite to the second clamping member. The insertion protrusion inserts through the first through groove and the second through groove and is detachably coupled to the second clamping member.

The present disclosure provides devices, instruments, and kits for handling certain implantable substrates, for example, cell-seeded membranes. The devices, instruments, and kits may be used for washing, cutting, and preparing the substrates for implantation into a patient. The devices, instruments, and kits may be particularly useful for handling implantable substrates that were cryopreserved.

A folding knife includes a grip portion, a working portion, a translation mechanism and a first locating structure. The grip portion defines an accommodating hollow therein, and the working portion includes a blade and a mounting support. The mounting support is able to pivot about the grip portion to switch between an unfolded position and a folded position. When the mounting support is in the unfolded position, a free end of the mounting support is located in front of the grip portion. When the mounting support is in the folded position, the free end of the mounting support is located in the accommodating hollow. When the mounting support is in the folded position, the translation mechanism is able to move in a lengthwise direction of the grip portion, causing the blade to move relative to the grip portion between the extended and retracted positions. The first locating structure is able to locate the blade in the extended and retracted positions.
