Cutting edge with microscopically sized channels to enhance cutting performance
Apparatus and method for sharpening a cutting tool so as to have enhanced cutting performance. In some embodiments, a tool sharpener is provided having a rigid body with a slot extending therein. A knurl roller is disposed within an internal cavity within the rigid body and mounted for rotation about a selected axis adjacent the slot to facilitate a cold forging operation upon a cutting edge of a cutting tool via insertion of the cutting edge into the slot and retraction of the cutting tool across the knurl roller. An abrasive member is affixed to the rigid body to facilitate a sharpening operation upon the cutting edge by advancement of the cutting edge thereacross.
HAND TOOL FOR CUTTING AND SERVING PORTIONS OF CULINARY PREPARATIONS
A hand tool to cut and serve slices of a substantially flat food preparation with a curved perimeter edge, particularly a circular one (cake, quiche, tart, pizza). The hand tool includes a handle and a flat active part with a triangular shape with two sides having a common point opposite the handle and defining a pointed angular sector facing the third side of the triangle next to the handle. The active part includes radial segments configured to geometrically determine a given number of equal slices. The active part includes, on one of the lateral sides of the triangle, radial segments offset relative to each other and coplanar with the general plane of the active surface. Each segment is set at a distinct angle in relation to the median longitudinal axis of the hand tool running through the point of the triangle connecting the two lateral sides and through the handle.
Knife
A knife is provided. The knife includes an ergonomic handle having a center axis. The knife includes a blade extending from the handle, wherein the blade has a tip with a rounded shape. The rounded shape of the tip is positioned in a central position with respect to the handle. The tip can be a circular shape have its center aligned with the center axis of the handle. The blade may have a blade edge that has a convex shape that extends beyond a line that contacts a furthermost point of the handle from the center axis and extends in parallel with the center axis. The blade may have a uniform thickness from its spine to its blade edge.

Knife with Fire Starting Implement
The invention relates to a novel knife with fire igniting capabilities as part of the knife itself. More specifically, the present invention provides for both a knife, and fire starting capability in one piece, which are both crucial to outdoor survival and useful in general camping and hiking activities. The handle can be hollow to contain a small survival kit, and the grips can be wrapped in paracord for other multiple outdoor survival uses.

Knife
A knife blade with a back, and a cutting edge with a shoulder, characterised in that the knife blade has a blade profile perpendicular to the blade edge that, starting at the shoulder and moving towards the back, has the following thickness, as ground prior to any polishing or subsequent steps, at the position indicated: at the shoulder a thickness of AA; at about 1/16 from the shoulder a thickness of BB; and at about from the shoulder a thickness of CC; where AA is about 16 to 23 thousandths of an inch (0.41 mm to 0.58 mm); BB is AA plus about 3 thousandths of an inch (0.076 mm); and CC is BB plus about 2 thousandths of an inch. (0.051 mm).

Chemically Sharpening Blades
A method for forming a cutting tool includes masking a metal base with one or more masks, the one or more masks including at least one variable permeability mask, and chemically etching the masked metal base to form a blade of the cutting tool.
