Cutting tools
A tool for use in cutting a tie wrap that is bound about at least one wire is provided. The tool includes a housing having a first side and a second side, wherein the first side and the second side are coupled together to define a cavity. The housing further includes a groove formed in the first side and in the second side, wherein the groove is in flow communication with the cavity. A blade is coupled to the first side and positioned with the cavity, wherein the blade includes a cutting surface partially extending into the groove. The tool also includes a spacer coupled to the housing and configured to maintain the wire a distance away from the cutting surface when the housing is applied to the tie wrap.
CUTTING TOOL
A cutting tool is configured to cut a tube. The cutting tool comprises a tube cutter. The tube cutter includes a housing having a blade opening and a profile defining a tube opening configured to receive the tube. The tube cutter also includes a blade arranged in the blade opening and extending into the tube opening. The cutting tool further comprises a handle having a grip portion and a mounting portion, the mounting portion configured to removably attach the tube cutter to the handle. The cutting tool also comprises a ratcheting mechanism configured to alternatively lock and unlock the tube cutter for rotation with the handle. When the tube cutter is attached to the mounting portion, the tube is arranged in the tube opening, and the handle is rotated in a first direction about the pipe, the ratcheting mechanism locks the tube cutter for rotation with the handle, such that the tube cutter rotates with the handle and the blade cuts the tube. When the tube cutter is attached to the mounting portion, the tube is arranged in the tube opening, and the handle is rotated in a second direction that is opposite the first direction about the pipe, the ratcheting mechanism allows the handle to rotate relative to the tube cutter.
CUTTING TOOL
A cutting tool includes a housing having a blade opening and a biasing member having a securing portion, an engaging portion, and a semi-circular body portion in between the securing portion and the engaging portion. The securing portion secures the biasing member to the housing within the housing and the engaging portion extends away from the body portion. An annular blade is biased by the engaging portion towards the opening and against the housing, with the blade at least partially extending through the blade opening.
Roofing composite scoring tool and methods of use
A method of installing a roofing membrane includes providing a membrane including a polymeric body having first and second opposed planar surfaces and a lap edge, a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer disposed on the first planar surface, and a release member removably affixed to the adhesive layer. Then, cutting the release liner while simultaneously scoring the adhesive layer along a line substantially parallel to the lap edge by use of a cutting and scoring tool and said step of cutting and scoring includes contacting the tool to the release liner. Finally, removing the release liner to expose the adhesive layer in the lap area; then applying a high-tensile member to the exposed adhesive layer in the lap area and forcibly removing the high-tensile member to thereby remove the adhesive layer within the lap area; and seaming the membrane composite to an adjacent membrane.
C-type tubing cutter
A C-type tubing cutter is described that accommodates and cuts a range of tubing or workpiece sizes. The cutter includes a radially positionable roller carriage that can be selectively positioned in one of several predetermined positions corresponding to different tubing sizes. The cutter also includes a trigger that can be engaged with the roller carriage to lock the carriage in a desired position. Certain versions of the cutters also utilize arcuate slots or tracks along which a cutter wheel is positionable.
HAND-OPERATED ROTARY BELT CUTTER
The disclosed inventive concept provides a rotary cutter and method of accurately cutting a ribbed transmission belt lengthwise to a desired width. The rotary cutter includes an upper portion having a handle end and a pivot end and a lower portion having a handle end and a pivot end. The pivot ends of each portion are joined by a common pivot. A belt input pulley and a rotary cutting wheel are rotatably attached to the upper portion. A drive wheel is rotatably attached to the lower portion. A belt output pulley is rotatably attached to the common pivot. Preferably but not absolutely the belt input pulley and the belt output pulley have ribbed outer surfaces. A cutting wheel cover is fixed around at least a portion of the cutting wheel. The upper portion is movable between an open, belt-fitting position and a closed, belt-cutting position relative to the lower portion.
Apparatus and system for cutting a pattern in a sheet material
An apparatus for cutting a pattern in a sheet material includes a template having a channel with a predetermined shape. The apparatus also includes a cutting device, including a base having one or more projections configured to interact with the channel, a handle coupled to the base and moveable relative to the base between a first position and a second position, and a retractable rotary blade coupled to the handle. The retractable rotary blade is moveable between a refracted position when the handle is in the first position, and an extended position when the handle is in the second position. The retractable rotary blade is configured to cut a pattern according to the predetermined shape of the channel when the cutting device is tracked along the channel while both the handle is in the second position and the one or more projections are positioned within the channel.
SURGICAL ROD SCORER AND METHOD OF USE OF THE SAME
A surgical rod scorer is provided. The surgical rod scorer includes a pair of elongated shaft members that are pivotably coupled to one another and movable from a spaced-apart configuration to an approximated configuration. Each of the shaft members includes a handle member that is configured for gripping by a user and jaw member that is configured to support respective first and second cutting assemblies thereon. The first and second cutting assemblies each include one or more cutting elements thereon configured and dimensioned to score surgical rod when the jaw members are in the approximated configuration and rotated about the surgical rod.
