A knife assembly includes a multi-bladed knife and a protective cover. The multi-bladed knife includes a handle and a plurality of blades attached to the handle. Each blade of the plurality of blades extends longitudinally from the handle and substantially parallel to each other. Each blade includes a bottom cutting edge and a top non-cutting edge connected therebetween by opposing blade side surfaces. The protective cover includes a cover top and a pair of opposing cover side walls. The cover top is configured to fit over a substantial portion of each of the top non-cutting edges of the plurality of blades. The cover side walls extend downward and substantially parallel to each other from opposing end portions of the cover top. The cover side walls are spaced a predetermined distance apart to frictionally fit against outer most side surfaces of opposing outer most blades of the plurality of blades.

The upper beak member extending longitudinally forward from the handle member and having a distal end opposite from the handle member and an upper beak member bottom that extends longitudinally from the handle member. The lower blade member having a blade edge and a blade base, the blade edge extending longitudinally forward beneath the upper beak member bottom from the blade base. The blade base being connected to the upper beak member at a rearward portion of the upper beak member bottom. The lower blade member further having a distal end opposite from the blade base, the distal end of the upper beak member longitudinally extending forwardly beyond the distal end of the lower blade member.

A folding knife having an elongated handle defining a finger hole proximate one end of the handle and a blade having a cutting edge and pivotally connected to the handle and configured to move with respect to the handle between a retracted position and an extended position. The blade is configured such that a portion of the cutting edge extends into the finger hole upon the blade being in the retracted position. A blade cover is connected to the handle and is configured to move between an operable position and a withdrawn position. A spring is configured to contact and automatically move the blade cover from the operable position towards the withdrawn position, whereby, as the blade reaches the retracted position, the blade cover is automatically moved to the operable position and covers the portion of the cutting edge of the blade extending into the finger hole, and upon the blade moving towards the extended position, the spring automatically moves the blade cover from the operable position towards the withdrawn position.

A folding knife having an elongated handle defining a finger hole proximate one end of the handle and a blade having a cutting edge and pivotally connected to the handle and configured to move with respect to the handle between a retracted position and an extended position. The blade is configured such that a portion of the cutting edge extends into the finger hole upon the blade being in the retracted position. A blade cover is connected to the handle and is configured to move between an operable position and a withdrawn position. A spring is configured to contact and automatically move the blade cover from the operable position towards the withdrawn position, whereby, as the blade reaches the retracted position, the blade cover is automatically moved to the operable position and covers the portion of the cutting edge of the blade extending into the finger hole, and upon the blade moving towards the extended position, the spring automatically moves the blade cover from the operable position towards the withdrawn position.

A tool for cutting a longitudinal object includes a grip extending between a first side and a second side in a first direction, and a blade arranged in a channel within the grip. The channel and the blade are arranged such that the longitudinal object is receivable and guidable toward the blade by the channel. In the first direction, the channel is arranged closer to the first side than to the second side of the grip. The tool further includes a guiding element, which is attached to the grip at an attachment point. The attachment point is, in the first direction, located between a channel entrance and the first side. The guiding element is attached to the grip in a foldable manner such that if folded out the guiding element extends from the grip to guide the longitudinal object toward the channel entrance.

A tool for cutting a longitudinal object includes a grip extending between a first side and a second side in a first direction, and a blade arranged in a channel within the grip. The channel and the blade are arranged such that the longitudinal object is receivable and guidable toward the blade by the channel. In the first direction, the channel is arranged closer to the first side than to the second side of the grip. The tool further includes a guiding element, which is attached to the grip at an attachment point. The attachment point is, in the first direction, located between a channel entrance and the first side. The guiding element is attached to the grip in a foldable manner such that if folded out the guiding element extends from the grip to guide the longitudinal object toward the channel entrance.
