A chopping apparatus for chopping a food item has a lower body portion and an upper body portion hinged together such that a hinge axis is perpendicular to the longitudinal directions of the body portions. Blades are supported on the upper body portion opposite a supporting surface on the lower body portion so as to be arranged to chop a food item supported on the supporting surface when the body portions are closed towards one another. The blades include lateral blades that are oriented perpendicularly to the longitudinal direction of the body portions and generally parallel to the hinge axis.

The invention relates to an interface between a knife and a knife holder, wherein the knife and the knife holder are designed such that the knife can be mounted on the knife holder in such a way that the knife is initially positioned on the knife holder in the axial direction, and then by rotating either the knife relative to the knife holder and/or the knife holder relative to the knife, the knife is locked on the knife holder with respect to the axial direction, wherein the knife has a single central fastening opening which is delimited by a knife edge region, and the knife holder has a fastening section for the fastening opening of the knife, which is delimited by a holder edge region.

In a preferred embodiment, the apparatus comprises: (1) a box with specifically designed blades for cutting; (2) a motor for rotating the blades over each other; (3) a sweeper mechanism to gently move the flowers around the enclosure blade; and, (4) a brush mechanism to gently tumble flowers over the blade surface.

A method of making a tape with an extended liner tab, by (A) providing a release liner-backed double-sided adhesive tape; (B) isolating a tape slug from the adhesive tape; (C) removing the tape slug so as to expose an underlying length of the release liner; and (D) cutting through the release liner so as to form the extended liner tab. Apparatus for performing the method, and release liner-backed double-sided adhesive tape comprising a plurality of spaced apart finite lengths of an adhesive tape and a release liner, with an exposed length of release liner disposed between adjacent lengths of adhesive tape.

The invention concerns a device and a method for guiding a blade at a cutting end face of a guide tube by means of magnetic force in order to bring a cutting spacing between the blade and the cutting end face as close as possible. The magnetic force may be applied to the blade only towards the end of a cutting process of a slice, i.e. near a blade outlet side of a guide tube cross-section of the guide tube.

A device (1) for processing foods includes a container (2) containing a dividing element (3, 4) for cutting through a food in order to produce a strip-shaped, spiral cut material, a housing (5) for accommodating the container (2), and a supporting element (6) for supporting the food, wherein the container (2) is rotatable in the housing (5). An intermediate space (7) is provided between the supporting element (6) and the dividing element (3, 4) in order to clamp the food, wherein the dividing element (3, 4) for cutting through the food is connected to the container (2), and therefore the cut material can be produced by the dividing element (3, 4) by a rotational movement of the container (2) and can be guided into an interior space (24) of the container (2).

An underwater line cutting tool includes a cutter. The cutter includes a blade holder and a rotating manipulator arm. The blade holder includes two stationary arms in a V-shaped configuration including at least one blade attached to one of two stationary arms. The blade holder is attached to the rotating manipulator arm of a rotating manipulator that is attached to an underwater remotely operated vehicle.

A substrate processing tool is prevented from falling out of a tool holder. This substrate processing tool is a tool for attachment to a substrate processing apparatus. The substrate processing tool includes a tool main body, a blade edge portion, and an engaging portion. A holding portion that is to be held by the chuck portion of the substrate processing apparatus is formed in at least a portion of the tool main body. A cutting apparatus and an associated method for slitting a tobacco sheet material into cut pieces used to form smoking articles are provided. The cutting apparatus includes a rotatable cutter assembly having a drum member configured to rotate about an axis defined thereby. The cutter assembly includes a plurality of knife members disposed about the periphery of the drum member and extending radially therefrom. A fixed counter-knife assembly is disposed adjacent to the periphery of the drum member and is configured to interact with the rotatable cutter assembly during rotation thereof about the axis. The counter-knife assembly includes a ledger member having a plurality of cutting insert members removably engaged therewith. The cutting insert members are configured to interact with the knife members during rotation of the cutter assembly with respect to the counter-knife assembly so as to slit the tobacco sheet material received therebetween into cut pieces.
