Plant for manufacturing tyres and manufacturing method related thereto
Within tyre manufacturing, a reinforcing structure of the tyre, such as the zero-degree layer of the belt structure, is made by an apparatus having devices for guiding a continuous elongated element towards a forming drum, devices for applying the elongated element against a laying surface of the drum, and a cutting unit to cut off the continuous elongated element when application has been completed. Once the cutting operation has been carried out, the free end of the continuous elongated element is set to a grip position downstream of the cutting unit, through a reciprocating slider and a threading element blocking the continuous elongated element with respect to the slider when the latter moves towards the forming drum.
MULTI-PART LONG KNIFE
A multi-part long knife (10) is provided for cutting rubberized and non-rubberized steel cord, rubber sheets with or without fiber reinforcement, industrial textiles, steel sheets and non-ferrous metals. The multi-part long knife (10) includes an elongated knife carrier (12), on which at least one elongated blade (16), having a cutting edge (18), is held. The knife carrier (12) has a clamping strip (14), which is guided in a recess (22) of the knife carrier (12) in a clamping direction (K). A receptacle (46) for the blade (16) is formed between the knife carrier (12) and the clamping strip (14), which clamping strip (14) is guided in the recess (22). A first clamping surface (50) is formed on the knife carrier (12) and a second clamping surface (52), opposite the first clamping surface (50), is formed on the clamping strip (14), between which the blade (16) can be clamped.
Tire manufacturing method
The present technology provides a tire manufacturing method comprising: positioning a cutting edge cradle on an elastomer layer side of the sheet laminate; pressing a circular blade, which dependently rotates from the sheet side of the sheet laminate comprising a thermoplastic resin or a thermoplastic resin composition, against the sheet laminate placed on the cutting edge cradle so as to cut the sheet laminate; and forming end sections of the sheet laminates to be superimposed.
BELT CUTTER
A portable belt cutting device comprises a cutting head and cutting blade movably arranged on the cutting head. The cutting head has a drive mechanism to move the blade from a retracted position to an extended position, such that the blade severs the belt. The drive mechanism may be coupled to the blade such that the blade is actively driven in both directions between the retracted position and the extended position. In some embodiments, the drive mechanism may comprise a drive spindle which may engage a thread formed in the cutting head. The spindle may be bi-directionally movable and comprise a torque input geometry. In another embodiment the drive spindle and blade comprise connecting elements that form a positive connection when engaged.
Cutting station for a tire building machine
A cutting station for a tire building machine includes a cutting device and a feeding device for feeding a strip of rubber material into the cutting device. The cutting device includes a cutting table for supporting the strip of rubber material in a support plane (P) and a cutting element for cutting the strip of rubber material along a cutting line (C) that extends parallel to the support plane (P), wherein the support plane (P) extends at a support angle (B) with respect to a first vertical plane in a range of five to thirty degrees and wherein the feeding device (5) is arranged for feeding the strip of rubber material onto the cutting table in a downward feeding direction parallel to the support plane. Also provided is a tire building machine incorporating the cutting station and a cutting method.
CUTTING METHOD AND CUTTING DEVICE FOR STRIP MEMBER
A front end feeding device 23 between a cutter 10 and a fixed-length feeding hand 30 that feeds a strip member 5 on an upstream side of the cutter 10 feeds a front end of the strip member 5 a short distance to a downstream side of the cutter 10, a front end grasping hand 60 on the downstream of the cutter 10 holds the front end of the strip member 5 fed the short distance, the fixed-length feeding hand 30 holds a part of the strip member 5 fed the short distance on the upstream side of the cutter 10, the front end grasping hand 60 and the fixed-length feeding hand 30 synchronously feed the strip member 5 a long distance to the downstream side, and the cutter 10 cuts the strip member 5 having been fed the long distance.
Downhole Trimming Tool
A trimming tool suitable for trimming material from within a central opening of an annular seal member includes a tubular member extending along a tool axis, a cutter coupled to move with the tubular member, and a first and a second debris catcher mounted on the tubular member. The cutter includes a first cutting edge oriented to cut when the tubular member is moved in a first direction along the tool axis, and a second cutting edge oriented to cut when the tubular member is moved in a second direction along the tool axis. Each debris catcher includes a receptacle that is open toward the cutter and includes an outer surface with a tapered segment. The cutter is mounted to the tubular member at a position between the first and second debris catchers.
Process and apparatus for building tyres for vehicle wheels
The present disclosure is directed to a process and an apparatus for cutting a continuous rubber-covered belt in a process for building tyres for vehicle wheels, wherein the apparatus comprises a cutting group, in turn comprising: a knife formed by a first half-part and a second half-part and movable along a cutting direction that is tilted with respect to a supply direction of a rubber-covered belt placed beneath the knife. The process comprises: lifting a lifting element placed below the continuous rubber-covered belt and at the cutting zone, until a portion of rubber-covered belt is lifted, and lowering the single first-half part of the knife, making it slide with respect to the second half-part.
CONNECTED ELASTICS
A strand of connected elastics is disclosed. The strand includes a series of elastic bands and a series of connecting portions that connect the series of elastic bands to each other. The connecting portions may have configurations that enable them to broken when separation and use of an elastic from an end of the strand is desired. Methods for manufacturing and using strands of connected elastics are also disclosed.
