A low-weight carpet tile and process for making the same, wherein the carpet tile comprises a facecloth having a plurality of face yarns tufted through a primary backing, an extruded polymer secondary backing layer, and a reinforcing scrim layer partially embedded within the extruded polymer secondary backing layer. The top surface and bottom surface of the carpet tile are defined by the facecloth and the reinforcing scrim layer, respectively. A polymer-based resin is extruded onto the facecloth to form an at least substantially uniform secondary backing layer, and the reinforcing scrim layer is laid onto the extruded polymer secondary backing layer while the extruded polymer secondary backing layer remains above a softening temperature for the resin. The entire multi-layer web is then passed through a nip to embed the reinforcing scrim layer into the extruded polymer secondary layer, and the entire web is chilled.

This application discloses a flooring edge finish that includes a flexible strip having an adhesive affixed to a top surface of the flexible strip and a hinge, wherein the hinge is a gap or an absence of the adhesive or a lower amount of the adhesive, on a portion of the top surface of the flexible strip, and wherein the flooring edge finish is upwardly foldable along the hinge to bind, protect, and conceal a flooring edge.

The present disclosure provides a novel design for an apparatus for protecting a floor, the apparatus comprising a plastic plate, a cushioning element, and a sliding element. Both the cushioning elements and sliding elements can be detachably coupled to opposing sides of the plastic plate via adhesive layers. The apparatus can thus take different forms for either sliding or resting furniture legs and casters over both carpeted floors and hard floors. The plastic plate is shaped with a raised lip so as to prevent contact with the floor even when the deformable sliding and cushioning elements are crushed by the heavy weight of furniture. The raised lip is formed so as to form a retaining wall about the concave receiving area where furniture legs may be placed when it is used as a caster. Also provided herein is a kit comprising multiple plastic plates, cushioning elements, and sliding elements, which a user can combine as they see fit for different functions.

The present invention relates to a novel one-piece bathroom rug or floor covering designed to accommodate the floor area near fixtures in a bathroom. The bathroom rug features a toilet rug portion for covering surface area in front of a toilet bowl, a shower rug portion for covering surface area in front of the shower or tub and a sink basin rug portion for covering surface area below and in front of a sink. The toilet rug portion includes a cut-out contoured to a toilet base and adapted to receive therein the toilet base. The bathroom rug is a multi-layered structure and absorbs water, increases comfort and safety, and improves the overall aesthetic of a bathroom.

A carpet tile includes a textile top member and a cushion mat that is coupled with the textile top member via a thermoplastic material. The textile top member includes carpet yarns and a backing that is coupled with the carpet yarns so that the backing structurally supports the carpet yarns. An interlocking modular mat having four sides has female connectors on two sides and male connectors on the other two sides so that the modular mat can interlock with an adjacent mat and its connectors. The modular mat is configured with a plurality of structures surrounding a periphery of a top portion of the mat. The plurality of structures in combination with an underside of the top portion of the mat form a cavity. A sponge insert is configured to fit in the cavity and have a height such that a portion of the sponge insert extends from a bottom side the mat body. With the sponge insert extending beyond the bottom side of the mat body, the sponge insert bottom face generally become the supporting bottom of the modular mat to provide a more cushioned feel for a mat user.
