Vertical Slicer
A vertical slicer includes a frame having a cover plate with a central opening and a hopper positioned over the opening. A carriage having a deck and a main cutting blade is attached to a spring-loaded plunger for reciprocating vertical movement within the frame. A tray collects food items cut by the main blade, which can be selectively adjusted to change a slicing thickness. A locking switch is configured to lock the plunger and carriage in a lowered locked position.
SPLITTING APPARATUS
An apparatus for mechanically splitting materials has a body with a cutting element arranged relative thereto. The cutting element has at least one cutting surface oriented vertically. The splitting apparatus has the cutting element applying an upward pressure against the material which is split when a separate downward force is applied to the material. The body of the splitting apparatus also has a safety element to protect the user from the cutting element; an elongate supporting element to distance the safety element from either or both the cutting element and a surface on which the splitting apparatus is used; a stabilizing element to stabilize the splitting apparatus relative to a surface on which the splitting apparatus is used; and optionally a deflecting element to deflect split materials away from the cutting element and container element to contain therewithin split materials produced during the splitting.

Capsule cutting apparatus and method
A cutting apparatus and method are disclosed for making a tamper device of a closing capsule, in which the capsule is fed to a cutting device on which simultaneously a first force is exerted that maintains a cutting portion of the device in an operative cutting position and a second force that would tend to make the cutting portion retreat to a safety position, the first force being greater than the second force and in which in the event of an anomalous situation like an interruption to an electric power supply, the first force is reduced so that the second force can exceed the first force and move the cutting portion to the safety position.

TABLE SAW
A table saw including a table having a top surface, an opening in the table through which a saw blade extends, and a throat plate receivable within the opening. The throat plate includes a front end that sits flush with the top surface of the table, a back end that sits flush with the top surface of the table, a top surface that is co-planar with the top surface of the table, and a wear plate pocket that is recessed from the top surface of the throat plate. The wear plate pocket defines a bottom surface that is oriented at an oblique angle relative to the top surface of the throat plate and slopes downward in a direction from the back end toward the front end. The wear plate positioned within the wear plate pocket. The wear plate sitting parallel to the bottom surface of the wear plate pocket.

Apparatuses and methods for cutting, spreading, and/or dispensing food product
A housing has a first end and a second end, an inner surface of the housing defining a channel that is configured to slidably receive therein a food product. A food product motivating mechanism is configured to engage a food product, the food product motivating mechanism being slidably receivable in the first end of the housing, the food product motivating mechanism and the housing being configured to cooperatively slidably urge a food product from the first end of the housing toward the second end of the housing. A rotating cutting mechanism is removably attachable to an outer surface of the second end of the housing, the rotating cutting mechanism being configured to rotate about the second end of the housing, the rotating cutting mechanism being further configured to cuttingly engage a food product.

METHOD AND CUTTING MACHINE WITH SAFETY-MONITORED REVERSING OF THE DANGEROUS CUTTING BLADE MOVEMENT IN THE EVENT OF DANGER
A method for the cutting of material is to be cut by means of a cutting machine which includes a horizontal cutting support for material to be cut, a horizontal cutting blade displaceable in height above the cutting support for cutting the material to be cut supported on the cutting support, a drive motor for the height displacement of the cutting blade, a manual control for the drive motor, and a protection device safeguarding the working region of the cutting machine. The method has the steps of: lowering the cutting blade, when the protection device is not interrupted, by actuating the manual control; and stopping the cutting blade which is being lowered when the protection device is interrupted. Immediately after stopping the cutting blade which is being lowered, the drive motor is operated to reverse the cutting blade under safety monitoring into a nondangerous upper safety location.
