Apparatus For Supporting Convolutely Wound Logs Of Web Material During Cutting
20210002098 · 2021-01-07 ·

An apparatus supports a convolutely wound log of web material during cutting of the convolutely wound log, and includes a bottom support link operatively pivotally coupled to a support frame and a side support link operatively pivotally coupled to the support frame and the bottom support link. A flexible member operatively coupled to a distal end of the side support link extends tangentially from the side support link and curves away from the side support link and the bottom support link so that a portion of the flexible member is spaced away from the side support link and the bottom support link. The spaced away portion of the flexible member together with the side support link and the bottom support link at least in part define a support surface for supporting the convolutely wound log when the log is directed into the apparatus.

Connecting cut assembly

The invention relates to a connecting cut assembly for producing connecting cuts in a material web being conveyed. The connecting cut assembly comprises at least one knife device with a cutting knife for cutting engagement with the material web to produce a connecting cut in the material web. Moreover, the at least one knife device has an actuatable cutting knife angle adjusting device for setting a respective cutting knife angle of the cutting knife to the material web. The connecting cut assembly comprises at least one presetting unit for actuating the respective cutting knife angle adjusting device.

Cutting device, in particular for cutting webs

A cutting device (1), in particular for rapidly cutting webs, including: a support structure (2) including a fixed blade (3), a carriage (4) movable along a movement direction (X), a mobile blade (5) mounted on the carriage (4), a guide (7), associated to the support structure (2), on which the carriage (4) is slidable along the movement direction (X); a sliding sleeve (11), interposed between the carriage (4) and the guide (7) concentrically to the guide (7); seals (8, 10) interposed between the guide (7) and the carriage (4) so as to define a chamber (9), concentric to the guide (7) and containing the sleeve (11); motor (6) configured to move the carriage (4) according to an alternating movement along the movement direction (X) between a non-operating position and an operating position, in which the mobile blade (5) partially superposes the fixed blade (3) so as to carry out the cutting of a web; supply (15) for supplying air to the chamber (9) so as to maintain it at a greater pressure with respect to the surrounding environment.

Blade sharpening system for a log saw machine
10759075 · 2020-09-01 ·

A blade sharpening system for log saw machines is provided. An example multiphase grinding wheel has a grinding face with one or more abrasive concentric rings for sharpening the cutting blade of the log saw machine, and one or more padded concentric rings consisting of fiber padding. Sharpening with the multiphase grinding wheel improves cut quality, increases blade life, removes glues and varnishes from the cutting blade, reduces blade deformation, and hones the edge of the cutting blade. A pneumatic tensioning system uses air bladders to apply a dynamically cushioned pressure between the grinding wheels and the cutting blade. The fiber-padded grinding wheels and the air bladder tensioner provide improved sharpness of the cutting blade and longer life for the mechanical components. The padded grinding wheels decrease fire risk, and the tensioner can be operated remotely, decreasing human injuries common with conventional setup actions near the sharp cutting blade.

Cutting mechanism for roll fiber product
10695934 · 2020-06-30 · ·

A cutting mechanism for a roll fiber product comprises two clamping devices for clamping the roll fiber product, and a blade for cutting the roll fiber product. The two clamping devices are respectively connected to a push device. During the cutting process, the push devices drive the clamping devices and the roll fiber product thereon swinging so that the two clamping devices break the roll fiber products to reduce the contact area and the friction between the blade and the roll fiber products. In addition, two clamping devices are respectively connected with a push-pull device for increasing the size of the gap therebetween, so as to prevent the blade from touching the cut roll fiber products. Thus, the cutting mechanism of the present invention is able to reduce the wear rate of the blade, and improve the yield rate of the roll fiber products.
