The disclosure herein describes various methods for producing a composite thickness metal part. Such methods include cutting out a base component having a first thickness, cutting out a foil sheet having a second thickness less than the first thickness, and loading the base component and the foil sheet into a fixture. Then the methods include passing the fixture containing the base component and the foil sheet through an ultrasonic welding machine to join the foil sheet to the base component and form an interim part that includes the foil sheet joined to the base component and cutting away preselected sections of the foil sheet from the interim part to produce a final geometry of the composite thickness metal part.

In the conveyance step (S2), a sheet (U1) having high stretchability in a high-stretch direction (DH) is conveyed in a conveyance direction (C10) running along the high-stretch direction (DH) while tension is applied in the high-stretch direction (DH) to the sheet (U1). In the tension adjustment step (S3), the tension in the conveyed sheet (U1) is adjusted. In the forming step (S4), ear loop members (4) are formed by cutting the sheet (U1) after the tension adjustment.

A punch assembly for creating clean holes in a wallboard sheet having at least one surface with a face paper layer. The punch assembly includes a frame having a lower assembly configured to support the wallboard sheet, a plate on an upper frame assembly being reciprocable relative to the at least one surface of the wallboard sheet, at least one stripper bushing connected to the plate, where the at least one stripper bushing including a hole and a piercing edge, and at least one punch configured to move through the hole in the at least one stripper bushing. In operation, the plate is moved against the at least one surface of the wallboard sheet so that the piercing edge of the at least one stripper bushing contacts the face paper layer and at least partially cuts the face paper layer prior to the at least one punch moving through the wallboard sheet to form at least one clean hole in the wallboard sheet.

A deburring apparatus includes (among other components) a frame and an elongated flat element connected to the frame. Rollers are adapted to support and rotate a vacuum belt around the apparatus. A perforation device is positioned and adapted to make perforations in the vacuum belt as the vacuum belt is rotated by the rollers. Making the perforations in the vacuum belt causes debris to remain in at least one of the perforations. The elongated flat element is positioned to contact the debris in the perforations.

A perforation device is positioned and adapted to make perforations in the vacuum belt as the vacuum belt is rotated by the rollers. Making the perforations in the vacuum belt causes debris to remain in at least one of the perforations. The elongated flat element is positioned to contact the debris in the perforations.

In a side view of the blade edge portion, the first areas form curved lines along first arcs having a center point on a punching axis, the second areas form curved lines along second arcs having center points located in areas between the punching axis and the highest points of the peaks, and the third areas form straight lines along common tangents to the first arcs and the second arcs.
