Method of forming a cut in a polymeric component
A method of forming a cut in a polymeric component includes providing a blade assembly including at least one blade, and a mandrel. The mandrel includes a rigid portion and a conformal support ring. The conformal support ring includes a material softer than the material forming the blade. A polymeric component is located between the mandrel and the at least one blade. The polymeric component is cut via the at least one blade. The at least one blade extends into the conformal support ring after the at least one blade has penetrated through the polymeric component.
Cap for container
A cap for a container is formed so that the cap has a top plate and a circular sidewall. Two opposite sides of the circular sidewall circularly connect to each other, one periphery of the circular sidewall connecting to one surface of the top plate forming a closed end, and another periphery of the circular sidewall at an opposite side of the closed end forms an opened end. Incisions are in the circular sidewall. The incisions form a ring member located at the opened end of the cap separated from a main body of the cap by a first incision and a second incision between the opened end of the main body and the ring member.
CUTTING DEVICE FOR CUTTING CAPS AND RELATIVE ASSEMBLY METHOD
A cutting apparatus and a cutting device are disclosed including a modular insert arranged at least partially in a housing cavity, in which the modular insert includes a cutting element for performing a vertical or oblique cut and an abutting block which is interchangeable and couplable with the cutting element to fix a total dimension of the modular insert, in which an abutting face of the abutting block abuts on a back wall of the housing cavity so that a rear end of the cutting element is spaced away from the back wall. An assembly method is disclosed for assembling the aforesaid device including the steps of providing a plurality of interchangeable abutting blocks and of choosing an abutting block between the plurality of interchangeable abutting blocks on the basis of a desired total dimension of the modular insert.
CUTTING APPARATUS
A cutting apparatus for cutting a cap provided with a cup body and having a base wall, a side wall and a protrusion projecting from the side wall of the cap outside the cap, includes: an advancement path travelable by the cap along an advancement direction, a spindle movable along the advancement path and rotatable around an axis thereof, the spindle being shaped to interact with the cap and to rotate the cap (10; 110; 210) around the axis, a support movable along the advancement path together with the spindle, said support being shaped to interact with the cap and to retain the cap against the spindle, a cutting device arranged for making a cut in the side wall of the cap when the spindle reaches a cutting zone provided in the advancement path,
