An angle adjustment mechanism for use in a circular saw including a shoe, a bracket mounted to the shoe, an operating member slidably mounted to the bracket and a cutting unit pivotally mounted between the shoe and the operating member. The angle adjustment mechanism includes a positioning member that has an abutting portion and is mounted to the cutting unit and a limiting member that is pivotally mounted to the bracket and has a stop member operable between a stopping position where the stop member protrudes from the guiding bracket and a releasing position where the stop member is located away from the positioning member. The abutting portion of the positioning member is abuttingly positioned at the stop member when the stop member is located at the stopping position, such that the cutting unit can be quickly positioned to the desired angle.

BLADED PLUG CUTTING TOOL AND RELATED METHOD OF USE

A plug cutting tool that produces plugs having an aesthetic exterior surface common to a donor board. The tool can include a tool axis; a carrier that rotates about the tool axis; and a blade which is joined with the carrier and which includes a first cutting edge moveable along a first extension axis transverse to the tool axis as the blade rotates about the tool axis. The first cutting edge angles toward and moves closer to the tool axis as the first cutting edge bores a groove in a donor board. The first cutting edge can advance into the donor board to produce the groove surrounding a plug having a plug face, a plug bottom, and a plug sidewall inwardly tapered from the plug face to the plug bottom so that the plug face has a greater dimension than the plug bottom. A related method of use is provided.

Hole Saw with Large Carbide Overhang

A hole saw with various teeth sets and/or sizes that overhang a sidewall is provided. In some embodiments, a large tooth overhangs an inner diameter of the sidewall to create a larger kerf than the sidewall's thickness. Similarly, a tooth set or variations in the circumferential directions of the teeth increase the kerf in a work-piece, either inward or outward. In various embodiments, one or both an enlarged tooth overhang and/or a set of the teeth increases the kerf of the hole saw relative to the sidewall thickness. This results in improved wear resistance, decreased heat on the teeth while cutting, and facilitates slug removal.

Apparatus for facilitating location of an object and a corresponding aperture in a construction panel and method of use

The invention provides a method of locating a position of an electrical fixture behind a panel by using an aperture cutting guide comprising a support plate and a guide tube having a longitudinal aperture. The support plate is formed with first holes and second holes. The selected second hole and the guide tube protruding through a cut-out of a panel are positioned at an axis of the fixture installation location. A hole cutting tool having a longitudinal rotatable element and a cutting member with cutting teeth is directed towards the cut-out. The rotatable element is movably received and guided by the tube's longitudinal aperture. An opening within the panel is cut by the cutting teeth, so that the guide tube is adapted to retain a proper orientation of the longitudinal rotatable element and to prevent the cutting teeth of the tool from drifting away from a predetermined orientation.
