Dismantling system

A system for dismantling a pallet includes a feed system configured to convey the pallet along a direction of travel. The feed system has a measuring station and a staging area. The measuring station is configured to obtain dimensions of the pallet. A saw is configured to dismantle the pallet. A manipulator includes a robotic arm. The manipulator is configured to move the pallet from the staging area to the saw for dismantling.

A sawmill comprising first and second clamp members for clampingly engaging opposite sides of a log or log cant. A trolley includes the second clamp member. For moving the trolley cross-wise of the sawmill base, a threaded rotatable rod, to which a handle is attached, extends cross-wise of the base. The trolley includes a pair of walls which have a pair of aligned vertically oblong apertures respectively for receiving the rod. A half nut is fixedly attached to a bottom of one of the apertures and has threads which mate with threads on the rod so that the rod can threadedly engage the half nut. The apertures are sized such that the trolley can be tilted so that the threads of the rod and the half nut can be disengaged and the trolley slid along the rod to an approximate position for clampingly engaging the second clamp member to the log or log cant, then, with the trolley positioned upright and the threads of the rod and the half nut re-engaged, the handle can be turned to apply clamping force by the second clamp member to the log or log cant.

The first plate is configured to be fixedly mountable on a log bed of a sawmill, and configured to support a log to be cross-cut. The stationary jaw is fixedly supported on the plate. The movable jaw is supported on the plate, and is configured to move at least in part in a direction parallel to the log bed plane when the first plate is mounted on the log bed. The movable jaw and the stationary jaw are collectively configured to fixedly clamp a log on the first plate in a clamp interior such that a grain direction of the log is normal to the log bed plane.

A channel may be formed between the top portion of the inner plate and the top portion of the outer plate, the channel being shaped and dimensioned to receive and secure a track in a sandwich grip.

The centre platform is configured to support the motor above the axles of the drive bandwheel and the free bandwheel.

The structural components may include wheels that guide the sawhead in linear movement along a track on a sawmill bed, to which the carriage base is attached. The structural components may also include a track cleaning system disposed between the metal plates. The track cleaning system maintains optimal track conditions.
