Device for harvesting timber
12245554 · 2025-03-11 ·

Timber harvesting device, having an extension arm and a sawing unit and gripper unit attached to the extension arm. The gripper unit has a gripper pair for a tree trunk, and the sawing unit has a cutting element, e.g., a chain saw, which is arranged to be pivotable out of a saw box for severing the tree trunk. The saw box is pivotably arranged about a pivot axis on the gripper unit and is connected to the gripper unit via a spring element and a piston-cylinder unit. The spring element defines a predetermined cutting position of the saw box via a restoring torque about the pivot axis, and the saw box is pivotable by the piston-cylinder unit into an inclined position which is tilted relative to the cutting position. The bearing of the piston-cylinder unit has a free movement space in the cutting position of the saw box.

Vehicle With Feller for Tree Limb Removal in Residential, Commercial, Municipal, Utility, and Line Clearance Applications
20170042100 · 2017-02-16 ·

A truck for tree limb removal is disclosed in residential, commercial, municipal, utility, and line clearance applications. The truck includes a vehicle chassis supporting a plurality of wheels. A boom is supported by the vehicle chassis. This boom has an attachment end attached to the vehicle chassis at an attachment joint and a tool-supporting end rotatable and extendable relative to the attachment joint. A feller buncher tool is attached to the tool-supporting end of the boom.

POSITIONING SYSTEM
20170021522 · 2017-01-26 ·

A positioning system, attachable to a vehicle for remote operation of the chain saw by a user sitting in the vehicle. A shock absorber indicator functions to tell the user when the weight on the limb is appropriate to engage the saw, and additionally cushions the drop when the saw cuts through the limb.

Chainsaw Guide

The chainsaw guide includes a guide head having two independent spherical eyes that each support a light emitter. The spherical eyes can be manually adjusted within the guide head to space the visible light markers projected onto a work piece from the light emitters at select distances and orientation from one another. The guide head houses the internal electrical circuitry to activate and control the light emitters. The chainsaw guide is powered by a remote battery pack.

Chainsaw Mill and Mill Attachments
20250222618 · 2025-07-10 ·

A control system automates operations of a chainsaw mill. The chainsaw mill has at least one powerhead, and at least one travel motor that mechanically engages with a drive belt to drive the at least one powerhead along a guide track. A tension sensor measures tension on the drive belt, and a powerhead sensor produces a revolutions per minute (RPM) measurement of the at least one powerhead. A powerhead controller is responsive to the RPM measurement for controlling the powerhead's throttle to keep the RPM near a predetermined RPM setpoint. A travel motor controller is responsive to the tension measurement for controlling the at least one powerhead's transit speed along the guide track to maintain drive-belt tension near a predetermined tension setpoint.

APPARATUS FOR CUTTING WITH A CUTTING DEVICE

A kit, apparatus, and system for cutting an object. An arm is coupled to a cutting device, defining a cutting edge, to be resiliently rotatable away from the cutting edge. The arm is biased in an open position. In the open position, the arm is angled away from the cutting edge to define, between the cutting edge and the arm, an expandable opening that is suitable to receive the object and to expand by pushing of the object on to the arm to rotate the arm away from the cutting edge as the object is drawn into the opening to urge the object against the cutting edge.
