Bevel saws and methods of adjusting a fence of a bevel saw are disclosed herein. The bevel saws include a workpiece support that defines a workpiece support surface. The bevel saws also include a user-actuated assembly and an assembly attachment structure that operatively attaches the user-actuated assembly to the workpiece support. The assembly attachment structure includes a blade bevel angle adjustment mechanism configured to adjust a blade bevel angle of the bevel saw blade. The bevel saws also include a fence that defines a fence surface that extends away from the workpiece support surface. The fence includes a first fence region and a second fence region. The first fence region and the second fence region define a blade-receiving gap therebetween, and the fence further includes a gap adjustment mechanism configured to automatically adjust the blade-receiving gap based, at least in part, on the blade bevel angle.

The fence assembly includes a moveable fence having a lower portion slidably received within a channel at least partially defined by the first fence. The fence assembly includes a locking member coupled to the first fence. The locking member extends into a groove defined by the lower portion of the moveable fence. The locking member is configured to engage the lower portion of the moveable fence to selectively lock the moveable fence between a retracted position and an extended position relative to the first fence. The fence assembly includes a retaining member coupled to the first fence and extending into the groove of the moveable fence. The locking member and the retaining member collectively restrict the moveable fence from moving in a direction away from the horizontal workpiece support surfaces.

A table saw has a base assembly, a table assembly supported by the base assembly, the table assembly, and a saw assembly supported by at least one of the table assembly and the base assembly. The saw assembly has a saw blade extending through the table assembly. A workpiece limiting device for power tools includes a support arm adapted to contact with a workpiece and limit the workpiece, and a body. The support arm is supported by the body and movable relative to the latter. The workpiece limiting device further includes a quick-release device. The quick-release device allows manual adjustment of the position of the support arm relative to the body and locks this position without using an external tool. Through the workpiece limiting device, the adjustment range of the position of the support arm relative to the power tool can be greatly expanded, and workpieces in different sizes can be processed.

Exemplary embodiments of a Smart Cut system and method for efficiently and accurately converting material length using a powered saw, such as a miter saw, are disclosed. Certain embodiments are configured such that a user of a miter saw may position a board or other material beneath the miter saw blade, and cut the material to a desired length, without any need to mark a measurement on the material prior to cutting it. It is an advantage of certain embodiments that a typical retractable tape measurement device, a portable tool that is ubiquitous in the construction industry, may be leveraged to indicate proper positioning of the material prior to cutting.

Extension rails for table saws

Extension rails for table saws are disclosed. Some of the disclosed extension rails can be attached to a table saw without a user having to manipulate a lever or knob. Extension rails particularly relevant to portable table saws such as jobsite and bench-top table saws are disclosed, including extension rails that can provide 48 or more of cutting capacity on jobsite and/or bench-top table saws. A method of attaching extension rails to a table saw is disclosed that does not require the use of a tool or the manipulation of a knob or clamp.
