Hand held planer
The invention provides a hand held planer (1) for planing a work piece surface comprising a planing tool (41) disposed between a first base (20) and a second base (30,31), the planer (1) being configurable so that it can be moved by hand along the work piece surface with the first base (20) leading and the first (20) and second (30,31) bases guiding the planer (1) along the work piece surface and the planing tool planing off a thickness of the work piece, wherein at least one (30,31) of the bases is an adjustable base such that at least a portion (31) thereof is removable or movable between a position that provides an operable lengthened configuration and a position that provides an operable shortened configuration such that a length of the adjustable base in guiding contact with the work piece surface is reduced or eliminated in the shortened configuration compared to the lengthened configuration.
Planer head
A planer head includes a cylindrical body having a first end, a second end and a crenelated curved face extending therebetween and including a plurality of pockets receiving a plurality of knives and knife holders. A clamping assembly connects each of the plurality of knife holders to their corresponding knives by frictional engagement. The clamping assembly includes at least one pair of clamping elements, each being disposed on a corresponding one of the first and second ends of the body. When moved in the longitudinal direction toward each other, the at least one pair of clamping elements forcing the plurality of knife holders in the radial direction thereby engaging in friction the knife holders with their corresponding knives and knife pockets of the body. A number of pairs of clamping elements is lower than a number of at least one of knives and knife holders. A kit for a planer head assembly, a clamping assembly, and a planer body are also presented.

Method and apparatus for flattening boards
A portable board mill that includes a sled, at least one ski, and at least one alignment guide. The sled may include a first end, a second end opposite to the first end, and a longitudinal axis defined between the first end and the second end, wherein the sled is adapted to engage with a router. The at least one ski also is also selectively operably engagable with the sled at one of the first end and the second end, wherein the at least one ski is adapted to engage with a work surface. The at least one alignment guide also operably engages with the sled and is moveable between the first end and the second end.

Portable multidirectional surface device
A portable multidirectional surface device, which may include one or more slide bearing glides and one or more base lengths which may are positioned adjacent the one or more slide bearing glides. One or more connecting plates, positioned above the base length(s), is connect with the base length(s) and the slide bearing glide(s). Providing motion to the device are multidirectional contact point(s) which are connected to the one or more connecting plates. The slide bearing glide(s) in conjunction with the base length(s) enable the use and operation of tools with the device.
