TEMPLATE AND SPACING TOOL FOR DECK CONSTRUCTION AND METHODS OF USE
In a general aspect, a construction tool can include a template portion arranged in a first plane. The template portion can include a rectangular plate having a slot defined, the slot being angled with respect to an edge of the plate and configured to facilitate marking a cut line on a construction material. The construction tool can also include a base portion arranged in a second plane, the second plane being orthogonal to the first plane. The base portion can include a first portion disposed on a first side of the plate, and a second portion disposed on a second side of the plate of the template portion that is opposite the first side of the plate. The first portion of the base portion can have a first thickness, and the second portion of the base portion having a second thickness that is different than the first thickness.

MITER GAUGES AND FENCES
A miter gauge with discrete indices is disclosed. The indices allow a user to make precise, accurate adjustments to the miter angle of the miter gauge. The miter gauge may include a plurality of sets of indices with discrete steps of different amounts. The miter gauge may include a drive to adjust the miter angle. The drive may include a gear. A reversible miter fence is also disclosed. The miter fence may optionally be used with the miter gauge to provide a larger workpiece support surface. A flip stop mechanism is also disclosed. The flip stop mechanism may optionally be used with the miter fence to provide a reference surface for positioning a workpiece.
CROWN MOLDING JIG DEVICE AND RELATED METHODS
A crown molding jig device may include first and second frames. Each of the first and second frames may have a vertex portion, and first and second legs extending from the vertex portion. The second legs of the first and second frames may define a recess between. The first leg of the second frame may define first and second slots. The crown molding jig device may include first and second adjustable studs carried by the first leg of the first frame, and being slidably received by the first and second slots so that the recess is adjustable in size.
ANGLE DIVIDER FOR MITER SAW
An angle divider includes a body portion with a proximate end and a distal end. A distal end pivot point is positioned in the distal end of the body portion. First and second removable arm are pivotally mounted to the distal end pivot point. The arms pivot with respect to the distal end pivot point. An adjustable pivot is mounted for sliding movement within an elongated slot formed in the body portion. Brackets removably interconnect the arms to the adjustable pivot. Movement of the arms results in movement of the adjustable pivot longitudinally along the body portion. A lock locks the adjustable pivot with respect to the body portion, which locks the arms in place with respect to the body portion. The removable arms can be removed from the adjustable pivot point for transport and to split the angle. 0
Compound miter apparatus
An apparatus for performing repeatable, accurate compound miter cuts takes the form of a gauge and associated plate that are attached to a conventional miter saw. The gauge includes a pair of hinged flaps that are adjustable so that the user can move the two flaps to correspond to the measured lean angle and the measured miter angle, creating the proper three-dimensional orientation for the compound miter cut. A separate plate member is attached to the saw itself (in a plane parallel to the saw blade), and is used as a guide to align the blade to the gauge. An associated set of pivot stops (for both the arm and the table) are used in conjunction with the gauge and the plate to form all possible combinations of inside and outside angles in a repeatable manner without needing to perform any calculations of the angles.

CUTTING TOOL
A cutting tool for cutting building materials at a range of angles from vertical and/or horizontal and with an additional adjustment mechanism for adjusting the cutting angle up or down by a small angle. More specifically, this invention relates to a cutting tool including a base, a support surface, and a cutting platform, where the cutting platform can be set at a plurality of angles to the base including, but not limited to, angles of 22.5, 30, 45, and 90, and the support surface can be angled slightly up or down by a small amount, for example 1 or 2, to slightly adjust an angle of the cut.
