Power tool operator protection system and method
A power tool operator protection system comprises a plurality of wearable position sensors configured to be worn by an operator of a handheld power tool; a power tool position sensor configured to detect the position of a handheld power tool; and processing equipment configured to generate a model of the operator based on the mutual positions of the respective wearable sensors relative to each other, the mutual positions defining the operator's posture; associate each of a plurality of limbs (32a-g) of the operator with a respective protection volume (30a-g); and based on the position and/or motion of the power tool in relation to the protection volume (30a-g) indicating an imminent danger that the working implement enters a protection volume (30a-g), generate a protection signal.
HANDHELD CHAINSAW HAVING A CHAIN CATCHER
A handheld chainsaw includes a cutting assembly, a housing with a lateral contact surface, a sprocket-wheel cover, and a chain catcher with a catch edge. The chainsaw extends in the direction of a longitudinal axis predefined by the cutting assembly. The chain catcher is arranged on the sprocket-wheel cover. The contact surface defines a contact plane. The chain catcher has a free end adjoining the contact surface with no form-fitting position holder acting rearwardly in the direction of the longitudinal axis. At least in the region of its free end, the catch edge of the chain catcher has a catch slope oriented away from the contact surface.
Arrangement for the passive capture of a broken saw chain
An arrangement to capture passively a broken saw chain of a chain saw with a guide bar that is arranged such that it can pivot, including a stationary screen that forms part of a sawing box and that covers a rear part of the saw. In order to achieve an inexpensive and efficient protection there is arranged between an end surface of the screen and the guide bar an energy-absorbing brake member that is sufficiently elastic or flexible to receive the kinetic energy from a broken saw chain, to direct kinetic energy away from the chain and to regain its normal form after it has suffered an impact from and been deformed by the chain.
Firewood processor with a tightenable saw chain
A firewood processor with a tightenable saw chain, which processor comprises a frame arranged to support the firewood processor to a base, such as the ground, and a saw for sawing wood raw material in a transverse direction into an intermediate product of a desired length. The saw comprises a saw chain, a flange for guiding said saw chain and a sprocket, which is arranged to convey the driving force to said saw chain. The firewood processor further comprises a splitting section for splitting the intermediate product of a desired length in the longitudinal direction into a desired size, which splitting section comprises a splitting wedge and means for splitting the intermediate product of a desired length by means of the splitting wedge. In addition, the firewood processor comprises automatic means for tightening the saw chain of said saw and for maintaining the tightness.
Safety system in a portable tool
A safety system in a portable tool (1) includes a pair of electrodes connected to a measurement and assessment unit, the measurement and assessment unit being an integrated circuit touch sensor device provided with a ground connector and with a sense electrode, wherein the ground connector is configured as internal floating ground connected to one electrode, the measurement and assessment unit configured for acquiring a reference capacity value measured between the two electrodes varies by a preset difference threshold with respect to the reference value, the safety signal being sent to a tool deactivation actuator.
Wall or floor chainsaw
A chain bar unit for a wall saw is presented herein. The chain bar unit can include a bar configured to receive a circulating chain or wire around a perimeter of the bar. The chain bar unit also can include a driving gear for driving the chain or wire around the bar, the driving gear configured to be coupled to an output shaft of the wall saw. The chain bar unit further includes the bar being tapered from an end proximate to the driving gear to a distal end having a distal end radius, wherein a width of the bar at the proximate end, is at least two times the distal end radius of the distal end.
Active protection system and relative operating method in a portable cutting tool
An active protection system and method in a portable cutting tool with movable cutting members includes at least: a cutting member stop; a controller/processor triggering the stop upon the detection of a danger condition; a proximal electrode electrically coupled with a tool handle and a distal electrode electrically coupled with the cutting member, to make up an armature of a capacitor, the processing unit feeding an electric output signal into one of the electrodes and detecting an electric input signal on the other electrode. The electric output signal includes different frequencies. A detection unit detecting a complex impedance of the electric input signal at the different frequencies. The processing unit determines a danger condition and causes triggering of the stop based on a value of the magnitude of the complex impedance electric signal and on a phase difference of the impedance electric signal at the different frequencies.
Protective garments
Protective garments are provided. A protective garment includes a protective garment fabric. The fabric is formed from a plurality of layers. At least one layer of the plurality of layers is formed from a plurality of fibers adapted to entangle with a moving blade of a tool upon contact between the moving blade and the fabric. At least one layer of the fabric includes metal fibers. The garment includes a garment sensing device including a sensor configured to detect when one or more metal fibers are cut, and a signal generator configured to send a signal to the tool to disable movement of the moving blade.
Cutter machine
A cutter machine may include a cutter unit, a prime mover configured to drive the cutter unit, a housing including a housing body and a grip, wherein the housing body holds the cutter unit and houses the prime mover, and the grip extends from the housing body and is configured to be grasped by a user's hand, and a hand guard attached to the housing, configured to protect fingers of the user's hand grasping the grip, and being more deformable than the housing.
Method for automatically ascertaining cleaning, maintenance and/or repair information for a motor-driven treatment tool and system for automatically ascertaining cleaning, maintenance and/or repair information for a motor-driven treatment tool
A method and system automatically determine cleaning, maintenance and/or repair information for a motor-driven treatment tool, wherein the treatment tool comprises a residue, able to be detected externally optically, caused during the operation of the treatment tool. The method involves the steps of: optically detecting the residue; classing the detected residue in accordance with a type of the residue; determining the cleaning, maintenance and/or repair information based on the classing; and outputting the determined cleaning, maintenance and/or repair information.
