CONTROL SYSTEM FOR NORMALLY-ON POWER TOOL
Disclosed in the present invention is a control system for a normally-on power tool. The power tool comprises a tool head and a power device for providing the tool head with power, and the control system comprises an acquisition circuit and a control circuit. The acquisition circuit is in electrical communication with the power device and used to acquire at least one parameter associated with the power device, and the control circuit is configured to put the power device in a working mode with a first output power or a standby mode with a second output power according to the at least one parameter. The control system according to one or more embodiments of the present invention can save energy consumption, reduce mechanical wear, increase the service life of the power tool, and enhance operation convenience and safety.
Wood chipper with drum speed monitoring system and centrifugal clutch
A wood chipper having a rotatable drum configured to reduce the size of wood fed into the wood chipper; a sensor configured to sense a speed of rotation of the rotatable drum; and a controller operably connected to the sensor. The controller is configured to cut power to the rotatable drum when the speed of rotation of the rotatable drum drops below a pre-set threshold value. The controller is operably engaged with a centrifugal clutch that is engaged to enable the rotatable drum to be rotated. When the speed of drum rotation drops below the threshold value because debris is slowing down rotation of the drum, the centrifugal clutch is disengaged by dropping engine speed. Disengagement of the centrifugal clutch cuts power to the drum and rotation thereof ceases so that the debris may be cleared.

Flywheel and paddle assembly for a chipping or shredding apparatus, and an apparatus incorporating same
A flywheel and paddle assembly for a chipping or shredding apparatus, including a wood chipper, a brush chipper, and a leaf shredder. The assembly has a flywheel attached coaxially to a drive shaft. The flywheel has at least one aperture extending from the front side to the back side, and carries at least one knife adjacent to the at least one aperture. The knife presents a knife edge on the front side of the flywheel. A paddle is rotatably mounted coaxially to the drive shaft adjacent to the back side of the flywheel. The paddle is configured to rotate on the drive shaft independently of the flywheel. A chipping or shredding apparatus incorporating the aforesaid flywheel and paddle assembly is also disclosed.

Wood chipper in-feed system
A wood chipper which includes a chamber having a flywheel and which includes a wood in-feed system. The in-feed system includes a bin inclined for gravity-feeding wood product to the chamber and a cylindrical anvil disposed between an outlet of the bin and the flywheel. The flywheel includes a plurality of plates laminated together with fasteners. First and second ones of the plates have aligned first and second openings respectively for passage of chips. The second opening has a tab which extends from an edge thereof partially into the first opening. A knife is attached to the tab and supports a blade outwardly of the first plate and thus outwardly of the flywheel. A system is provided for providing water mist onto wood product only as it is being fed down the in-feed bin.

FLYWHEEL FOR A WOOD CHIPPER AND PROCESS FOR MAKING THEREOF
A wood chipper, a flywheel therefor, and a process of making the flywheel. A plurality of plates are laser cut to each have a thickness up to about ⅜ inch, including laser cutting a plurality of apertures in each of the plates and laser cutting a central opening in each of the plates for receiving a shaft for effecting rotation of the flywheel. The plurality of plates are laminated together by inserting fasteners in corresponding ones of the apertures in the plates. At least one knife is attached to the laminated plates for cutting wood material to form chips of the wood material as the flywheel is rotated.
