METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION OF SOLID MOLDED ARTICLES MADE OF NON-WOOD PLANT MATERIALS
The present invention provides a method for the production of a solid molded article comprising non-wood plant material, the method comprising the steps of (a) providing one or more fresh non-wood plant materials having a moisture content from 20% w/w to 99 w/w; (b) heating the fresh non-wood plant material at a temperature from 40° C. to 250° C., in particular, at a temperature from 60° C. to 140° C., and a pressure from 40 KPa to 750 KPa, in particular, for at least 0.5 h, maintaining the moisture content of the material equal to or higher than 20% w/w; (c) molding the heated material obtained in step (b); and (d) drying the molded material obtained in step (c). The invention also provides solid molded articles obtainable by the method of the invention.
USE OF BONDING RESIN
The present invention relates to the use of a bonding resin prepared by providing an aqueous solution comprising at least one biobased product selected from tannin, starch, soy protein, glycerol, chitin, pectin, dextrose or other carbohydrates, or a mixture thereof and mixing the aqueous solution with one or more of certain crosslinkers such as ethers, and optionally one or more additives. The bonding resin is used in the manufacture of laminates, mineral wool insulation or wood products, such as engineered wood products, such as plywood, oriented strandboard (OSB), laminated veneer lumber (LVL), medium density fiberboards (MDF), high density fiberboards (HDF) or particle boards. Preferably, the bonding resin does not comprise lignin.

Adhesive, a Production Method of a Wood Board Using the Adhesive and Product Thereof
Present invention is related to an adhesive, a production method of a wood board using the adhesive and product thereof. The adhesive of the disclosure comprises an organic material, an inorganic material, a curing agent and a catalyst. The said adhesive is able to bond the wood material, especially recycled wood material perfectly. The wood material is not necessary to have any pretreatment like removing color, pigment or plastic lining so as to be introduced to the film process directly. After breaking and adjusting the moisture content of the wood material, it can be mixed with the adhesive of the present invention and hard pressed into wood product with good duration and quality. The adhesive and the production method of wood board provided by the present invention is able to ameliorate the problem of the conventional water based adhesive to save energy and processing time.

In particularly exemplary embodiments, the manufactured articles are door skins, sometimes known as door facings, and doors made from the door skins. The article contains a lipophilic cellulosic material, a tackifier, and a binder.
Spent coffee grounds as a lubricant in a method of pelleting of wood
Pellets and a process for producing pellets are disclosed. The process includes recovering spent coffee grounds from a coffee production facility. The coffee grounds are then subject to a drying process to remove moisture from the coffee grounds to form dried coffee grounds. A mixture of about 0.5-10% dried coffee grounds and wood material is then formed. The mixture is then compressed in a pellet mill to form wood pellets including about 0.5-10% coffee grounds. The coffee grounds in the wood material acts as a lubricant for the pelleting machinery and eliminate the need for other lubricants in the process.

A process for making an animal litter from a woody biomass starting material is described, with the performance amendments substantially located entirely on the outside surface of the woody biomass particles. The process may include the steps of densifying the biomass starting material, crumbling the densified biomass material; screening the densified biomass material for size; optionally adding a zeolite containing a scent; spray coating the sized, densified biomass particles with a surface adhesion agent; and powder dosing the sized, densified biomass particles and zeolites with a performance amendment comprising equal parts bentonite and guar gum.
