A hydroxy functional alkyl polyurea is disclosed having the formula presented in claim 1, wherein R comprises an isocyanurate moiety, biuret moiety, allophonate moiety, glycoluril moiety, benzoguanamine moiety, polyetheramine moiety, and/or polymeric moiety different from a polyetheramine and having an Mn of 500 or greater; wherein each R.sub.1is independently a hydrogen, alkyl having at least 1 carbon, or a hydroxy functional alkyl having 2 or more carbons and at least one R.sub.1 is a hydroxy functional alkyl having 2 or more carbons; and n is 2-6. Further disclosed is a coating comprising: a film-forming resin; and a hydroxy functional alkyl polyurea crosslinker having the formula presented in claim 4, wherein R.sub.1 is a substituted or unsubstituted C.sub.1 to C.sub.36 alkyl group, an aromatic group, an isocyanurate moiety, biuret moiety, allophonate moiety, glycoluril moiety, benzoguanamine moiety, polyetheramine moiety, and/or polymeric moiety different from a polyetheramine having an Mn of 500 or greater, wherein each R.sub.1 is independently a hydrogen, an alkyl having at least 1 carbon, or a hydroxy functional alkyl having 2 or more carbons and at least one R1 is a hydroxy functional alkyl having 2 or more carbons; and n is 2-6, and when R.sub.2 is a substituted or unsubstituted C.sub.1 to C.sub.36 alkyl group the film-forming resin comprises COOH functionality that reacts with the polyurea to form an ester linkage. Other hydroxy functional alkyl polyurea compounds, polymers made with the same, and compositions comprising the same are also disclosed as are substrates coated at least in part with or formed with any of the compositions described herein.
Efficient method and apparatus for producing compressed structural fiberboard
An efficient method and apparatus for making a compressed structural fiberboard from agricultural fibrous matter. The method and apparatus provides a conveyor having variable drives for carrying the agricultural fibrous matter; a hopper having variable drives for conditioning and delivering the agricultural fibrous matter to an extruder; the extruder having a cyclic ram with linear actuators and a floating plate to drive the cyclic ram between an extended position, wherein the agricultural fibrous matter is compacted into the compressed structural fiberboard, and a retracted position, wherein the agricultural fibrous matter is delivered to the extruder; synthetic oil heaters for heating the compressed structural fiberboard; a heat sink track cooler for cooling the compressed structural fiberboard; and a water jet cutting system for cutting the compressed structural fiberboard into individual boards.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR ADJUSTING INPUT VALUES WHEN OPERATING A MACHINE
The invention relates to a method for operating a machine, in particular a coating machine, preferably a narrow-edge coating machine, such as those used e.g. in the furniture or component industry. The method comprises the following steps: transferring a plurality of input values from a storage device to a control device of the machine, the input values relating to at least one material and/or tool used in a processing of a workpiece, preparing the machine for processing based on the input values, processing a workpiece with the prepared machine, changing the input values based on the processing and/or the product, and transferring the changed input values to the storage device.
Candle wax composition and method of making
Wax compositions are provided with improved properties for candles and candle jars. The candle wax composition includes a major amount of a foots oil and minor amount of a 600N slack wax. In one form, the foots oil is a 150N foots oil that is included in the composition at from 70 to 80 weight % of the composition and the 600N slack wax is included in the composition at from 20 to 30 wt % of the composition. The candle wax composition provides substantially no oil bleed and a smooth surface appearance with improved burning properties in terms of soot production, wax consumption, melt pool depth and flame height.
METHOD OF MANUFACTURING A TIMBER COMPOSITE, THE TIMBER COMPOSITE OBTAINED AND DECORATIVE PANELS COMPRISING SUCH TIMBER COMPOSITE
