MULTI ZONE CEMENTITIOUS PRODUCT AND METHOD
A multi-zone cementitious product, which includes a base zone made of a first cementitious material composition and forming a portion of the product. At least one facing zone is adjacent to and bonded to the base zone, the facing zone made of a second cementitious material composition and forming at least one exterior face of said product which is visible when the product is installed. A disrupted boundary layer is between the facing zone and the base zone, and includes material from both the facing zone and the base zone. The disrupted boundary layer bonds the facing zone to the base zone. The facing zone has a thickness sufficient to prevent the base zone from being visible when the product is installed.

Hole former with gasket locating features for cast manhole structures
A hole former for use in casting a gasket within an opening of a structure of the type used in underground water systems, such as a manhole. The hole former includes a body defining a central axis and an outer peripheral surface, with at least one gasket retention element projecting radially outwardly from the outer peripheral surface to interface with a corresponding locating feature of the gasket. In this manner, axial shifting or movement of the gasket with respect to the hole former is restricted, thereby positively locating and retaining the gasket on the hole former before and during the casting process. The hole former may have a compound curvature, with the gasket retained around the periphery of the hole former in a compound curved configuration.

Method for manufacturing a curable, slab-like light-conducting body, mold for carrying out the method and a light-conducting body produced in accordance with the method
A method for manufacturing a curable light-conducting body (21) in a casting method, in particular for the manufacture of light-conducting bodies (21) of a curable concrete material (36, 56), wherein a light-conducting mat (1) is embedded in a curable casting material (36, 56), and a casting mold (27) with a recessed mold cavity (18) open at the top is filled with the not-yet-cured casting material (36, 56), wherein, in a first method step, a plurality of molding punches (32) moveably arranged in the mold cavity (18) of the casting mold (27) are moved to at least the plane of the upper edge (43) of the mold cavity (18), 1. in a second method step, the space between the molding punches (32) in the mold cavity (18) is filled with a curable casting material (36), 2. in a fifth method step, the light-conducting mat (1) to be embedded in the casting material (36, 56) is placed on the end sides (61) of the molding punches (32) raised in the mold cavity (18), 3. and that, in a sixth method step, the light-conducting mat (1) is pressed into the casting material (36, 56) wherein, with the pressing movement of the light-conducting mat (1) into the casting material (36, 56), the molding punches (32) are approximately synchronously moved downwards out of the bottom surface of the mold cavity (18).
Needled ceramic matrix composite cooling passages
A method for forming a hole within a ceramic matrix composite component includes forming a first core portion for a ceramic matrix composite component; embedding a hollow member into the first core portion at a desired location; wrapping the first core portion with a first ceramic matrix composite material; inserting a rod through the hollow member and into the first core portion; removing the hollow member; assembling a second core portion to the first core portion such that the rod extends into the second core portion; and wrapping the first core portion and the second core portion with a second ceramic matrix composite material.

FORMING TOOL AND METHOD OF FABRICATING PAVEMENT SLABS
A form for forming a modular pavement slab with long and short cavities alternatingly formed around its periphery includes a header and a plurality of short and long forming tools. The header includes an inner vertical surface that defines a portion of the periphery of the modular pavement slab. The short forming tool includes an elongate body defining a longitudinal axis and having a proximal end positioned against the inner vertical surface of the header. The elongate body has a longitudinal bore therethrough and a riser bore defining an axis that is noncollinear to the longitudinal axis. A riser is releasably coupled to the riser bore. The long forming tool is substantially similar to the short forming tool. The elongate body, however, is longer than the short forming tool and includes two riser bores. A riser is releasably coupled to each respective riser bore.
Method and mold for manufacturing an interlocking concrete retaining wall block
A mold for manufacturing interlocking, dry-cast concrete retaining wall blocks in an upright orientation comprises a mold box comprising two side walls joined to end walls to define a mold cavity, a top face, and a substantially open bottom face. Partitions configured to define a space between adjacent blocks or a space between a block and a side of the mold box extend parallel to the side walls of the mold box substantially from the top face into the mold cavity, to form first transverse portions of the profile of the top and bottom surfaces the blocks which do not include any undercut portion that would impede removal of the mold box in a substantially vertical direction. At least one removable insert comprises insert members which, when positioned in the mold box beneath the partitions, form remaining transverse portions of the profile of the top and bottom surfaces, the remaining transverse portions including at least one undercut portion. The insert members, when in position in the mold box for casting, are substantially in lateral alignment with respective bottom surfaces of at least some of the partitions and can be inserted and retracted through openings in an end wall of the mold box.
Arthroscopic devices and methods
An arthroscopic or other surgical cutter has features which facilitate fabrication by ceramic molding. The arthroscopic cutter includes a cutter body having a longitudinal axis and a window, an interior channel, and a plurality of cutting edges extending radially outwardly from an outer surface thereof. The features include non-helical, longitudinally aligned cutting edges, controlled thicknesses of the cutting edges, controlled heights of the cutting edges, controlled areas of the windows, controlled diameters of the internal channels, controlled rake angles of the cutting edges, and other parameters.
