A coated cutting tool, comprising: a substrate made of a cubic boron nitride-containing sintered body; and a coating layer formed on the substrate, wherein the cubic boron nitride-containing sintered body includes 65 volume % or more and 85 volume % or less of cubic boron nitride, and 15 volume % or more and 35 volume % or less of a binder phase; the cubic boron nitride is in a form of particles, the particles having an average particle size from 1.5 m or more to 4.0 m or less; the coating layer includes a lower layer, and an upper layer formed on the lower layer; the lower layer contains particles each having a composition represented by (Ti.sub.1-xAl.sub.x)N; the lower layer has an average thickness from 0.1 m or more to 1.0 m or less; the particles forming the lower layer have an average particle size from 0.01 m or more to 0.05 m or less; the upper layer contains particles each having a composition represented by (Ti.sub.1-yAl.sub.y)(C.sub.1-zN.sub.z); and the upper layer has an average thickness from 1.0 m or more to 5.0 m or less.

Method for producing concrete elements

Presented and described is a method for manufacturing concrete elements having at least one concrete layer, wherein concrete for at least one element is introduced into a mould, the concrete is compacted by vibration and/or by tamping and subsequently cures, wherein to the concrete layer, prior to compaction, at least one portion of a granular material is applied by means of an application device, where the concrete introduced into the mould has a water/binder (w/b) ratio of 0.30 to 0.50 prior to curing and where as granular material a material is used comprising (a) a scatter component having an average particle diameter of 0.1 to 5 mm in an amount of 65 to 95 wt % and (b) binder in an amount of 5 to 35 wt %, based in each case on the overall composition of the granular material.

NOVEL MASONRY MATERIAL UTILIZING RECYCLED CONSTRUCTION & DEMOLITION WASTE

The embodiments herein are directed to dry wall waste mixtures, formed under pressure into example embodiments referred to herein as dry wall waste blocks (DWBs) and/or gypsum wallboard waste blocks (GWWBs) and tile structures. DWBs/GWWBs mixtures in particular, often incorporate a higher percentage in the composite mixtures from about 60% up to 85% of dry wall waste than other mixtures and beneficially often incorporates substantially all of the wallboard facing paper as part of the composite mixture. That is, waste processing is simplified by comingling core and paper layers in the final product. DWBs/GWWBs mixtures utilize demolition and construction waste, replacing a high percentage of Portland cement with waste-derived binder.

DECORATIVE CONCRETE WITH UNIFORM SURFACE AND METHOD OF FORMING THE SAME
20240011291 · 2024-01-11 ·

A decorative concrete with a very uniform finish surface and a method of fabricating the same is disclosed. A concrete mixture is poured over a subgrade which defines an exposed surface. The exposed surface is finished with any of several techniques, and the surface is then worked with an abrasive material, and additional techniques are used to color and seal the concrete.
