The film can also be used as a barrier layer between the ground and poured concrete.

METHOD OF SURFACE TREATMENT FOR CERAMIC AND CERAMIC ARTICLE
20190016013 · 2019-01-17 ·

A surface treatment method is provided that is capable of raising the slidability of a ceramic surface at low cost using a comparatively simple method. Dimples are formed on a surface of a treatment region, this being a portion of a ceramic surface where surface treatment is to be performed, by ejecting substantially spherical ejection particles having a median diameter of from 1 m to 20 m, together with compressed gas at an ejection pressure of from 0.01 MPa to 0.7 MPa, so as to achieve a value of a fastest decay autocorrelation length of not less than 10. The dimples are formed so as to have a plan view profile with a ratio between a horizontal Feret diameter and a vertical Feret diameter of from 0.7 to 1.43. Thereby a ceramic surface with improved slidability can be obtained regardless of use or non-use of a lubricant.

Faraday rotator and optical isolator based on this faraday rotator
10168556 · 2019-01-01 · ·

To provide a faraday rotator using a TGG ceramic sintered compact and a light isolator using the faraday rotator such that the influence of scattered light can be relatively reduced and overall characteristics degradation for the entire light isolator is minimized so that a high extinction ratio of at least 38 dB or greater is achieved. [Solution] The faraday rotator according to the present invention uses a TGG ceramic sintered compact having an average particle diameter of 0.2 to 5.0 m, and has a transmission beam diameter of 0.3 mm or more, the TGG ceramic sintered compact being preferably annealed.

DRY WALL MANUFACTURING METHOD AND APPARATUS

As an elongated laminate of paper faced gypsum being produced into drywall boards is advanced along a conveyor to a point at which the gypsum is dried to a water content such that the laminate can be embossed by an embossing roller which can be pressed into the laminate for a sufficient time and depth to form a embossed channel which is about the lateral width of a piece of drywall tape which would be used to tape the ends of two separate abutting drywall pieces when being hung and taped, and a depth sufficient to accommodate a strip of drywall tape within said embossed channel. The embossing step is done on the underside of said advancing laminate at a distance from a shear used for shearing the laminate into pieces of drywall, that the center line of the embossed channel bottom wall formed by said embossing roller is located the distance the advancing laminate has to travel to shear the individual drywall pieces being produced to a desired length, or a multiple thereof.

SMOOTHING DEVICE AND METHOD FOR SMOOTHING A CONCRETE PART
