A system and method for manufacturing building materials made of volcanic material includes gathering of molten volcanic material that is collected by catching the molten volcanic material after the molten volcanic material flows off an edge of land, cooling the volcanic material by immersing the mold containing the volcanic material into a body of ocean water, and shaping the volcanic material into shapes that may be used in construction.

Systems and methods for curing a precast concrete product
11358304 · 2022-06-14 · ·

A method of curing a concrete product having a cavity is described and includes positioning the concrete product on a base, sealing an opening to the cavity using a cover plate, introducing carbon dioxide (CO2) gas into the cavity to execute carbonation of the concrete product, and, in response to the concrete product attaining a target specification, unsealing the opening. A system for curing a precast concrete product is also described.

Manufacturing system, process, article, and furnace

A manufacturing system includes a tape advancing through the manufacturing system and a station of the manufacturing system. The tape includes a first portion having grains of an inorganic material bound by an organic binder. The station of the manufacturing system receives the first portion of the tape and prepares the tape for sintering by chemically changing the organic binder and/or removing the organic binder from the first portion of the tape, leaving the grains of the inorganic material, to form a second portion of the tape and, at least in part, prepare the tape for sintering.

Methods of laser machining wet cellular ceramic extrudate for honeycomb body manufacture

A method of manufacturing a honeycomb body, comprising extruding honeycomb extrudate (200) in an axial direction (A), the honeycomb extrudate (200) having an outer periphery (206); and laser machining in situ the honeycomb extrudate (200) to form a laser cut in the honeycomb extrudate. A system for in situ cutting a wet green ceramic extrudate, comprising a laser (500, 732, 826) configured to irradiate laser energy to an outer periphery of a wet green ceramic article, the laser energy adapted to cut through at least a portion of the outer periphery (206).

PROCESS OF MANUFACTURING A DENTAL MILLING BLOCK WITH A HOMOGENEOUS COLOR AND/OR TRANSLUCENCY GRADIENT
20230270529 · 2023-08-31 ·

The invention relates to a process of manufacturing a dental milling block with a homogeneous color and/or translucency gradient. This process comprises the steps of providing a mold with a cavity having a z-direction and an x/y-direction, filling the cavity partially with a first powder up to a height H1, the first powder having a volume VP1 with a top and bottom surface, introducing a second powder on top of the first powder up to a height H2, the second powder having a volume VP2 with a top and bottom surface and, the top surface of the first powder being in contact with the bottom surface of the second powder and forming an intermediate region, providing a mixer unit with at least one rotatable mixing element, introducing the rotating mixing element in z-direction into the intermediate region, mixing the powder located in the intermediate region by rotating the mixing element, removing the rotating mixing element from the powder, compacting the powder, optionally applying heat to the compacted powder, the first powder differing from the second powder by its physical properties and/or chemical composition and/or color. The invention also relates to a process of producing a dental restoration using dental milling block obtainable according to this process.

SINTERED BODY, METHOD OF FABRICATING THE SAME, SEMICONDUCTOR FABRICATING DEVICE, AND METHOD OF FABRICATING SEMICONDUCTOR FABRICATING DEVICE

A sintered body, a method of fabricating the sintered body, a semiconductor fabricating device, and a method of fabricating the semiconductor fabricating device, the sintered body including 50 mass % or more of Y.sub.5O.sub.4F.sub.7, wherein the sintered body has a relative density of 97.0% or more and a Vickers hardness of 2.4 GPa or more.

Aqueous additive production method for the fabrication of metallic bodies
11742096 · 2023-08-29 · ·

A green body for a 3D ceramic and/or metallic body is produced by providing a metal or a mixture of metals and/or a metalloid and/or a non-metal or mixtures thereof in form of at least one aqueous solutions, such as a metal nitrate solution; if more than one aqueous solutions are provided, they differ in composition and/or isotope concentration. One aqueous metal solution is mixed with a gelation fluid at a first temperature to suppress an internal gelation of the feed solution mixture prior to its ejection. The feed solution mixture is ejected by inkjet printing to the green body under construction. The ejected feed solution is heated mixture on the green body to a second temperature to fix it on the green body under construction. Several process steps are repeated according to a 3D production control model until a desired form of the green body is attained.
