HONEYCOMB FORMED BODY AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING HONEYCOMB STRUCTURE
A honeycomb formed body containing a ceramics raw material, he honeycomb formed body including: a pillar shaped honeycomb structure portion having a plurality of rectangular cells, the cells being defined by partition walls and extending from a first end face to a second end face to form flow paths; an outer peripheral portion having outer peripheral portions X where the partition walls are covered with an outer peripheral wall; and outer peripheral portions Y where the partition walls are exposed. Each of the outer peripheral portions X includes a tapered portion having a gradually deceasing thickness of the outer peripheral wall toward a boundary portion with an adjacent outer peripheral portion Y. The tapered portion requires a length equal to or more than one time of an average cell pitch in the outer peripheral direction until thickness of the outer peripheral wall is halved.
Manhole base assembly with internal liner and method of manufacturing same
A manhole base assembly and a method for making the same employ a non-cylindrical, low-volume concrete base that is fully lined to protect the concrete against chemical and physical attack while in service. This lined concrete manhole base assembly may be readily produced using a modular manhole form assembly which can be configured for a wide variety of geometrical configurations compatible with, e.g., varying pipe angles, elevations and sizes. The form assembly is configurable to provide any desired angle and elevation for the pipe apertures to interface with various underground systems, and can be formed on-site to facilitate compatibility with existing structures. The assembly provides for flexible, modular construction of a wide variety of lined manhole base assemblies at minimal cost, reduced concrete consumption and reduced operational complexity. The modular nature of the production form assembly also facilitates reduced inventory requirements when various manhole base assembly geometries are needed.
METHOD OF MANUFACTURING HONEYCOMB STRUCTURE
A method of manufacturing a honeycomb structure, the method including: a circumferential coat layer forming process of applying a circumferential coating material on a circumferential surface of a ceramic honeycomb structure to form a circumferential coat layer, the circumferential coat layer forming process including: a rotating process of matching an axial direction of the honeycomb structure; and an applying process of discharging the circumferential coating material to apply the circumferential coating material on the circumferential surface of the honeycomb structure that rotates, wherein in the applying process, a discharge speed of the circumferential coating material, calculated by Equation (1), discharged from the discharge nozzle is 50 to 120 mm/s, and
Discharge speed V [mm/s]=Supplied amount q [g/s] of circumferential coating material(Density [g/mm.sup.3] of circumferential coating materialArea S [mm.sup.2] of discharge opening)(1).

Manufacturing method of honeycomb structure, and bonding material
A manufacturing method of a honeycomb structure includes a forming step of forming a quadrangular pillar-shaped honeycomb formed body, a firing step of firing the honeycomb formed body and forming a quadrangular pillar-shaped honeycomb fired body, a coating step of coating at least a part of side surfaces of the honeycomb fired body with a paste-like bonding material, a honeycomb block body preparing step of bonding the plurality of honeycomb fired bodies while performing pressurizing, to prepare a honeycomb block body, and a circumference grinding step of grinding a circumferential surface of the honeycomb block body and obtaining the honeycomb structure, and in the honeycomb block body preparing step, the bonding is performed without interposing any member other than the bonding material between the honeycomb fired bodies, and the bonding material has a shear thinning property.
Fluid Emitter concepts for feeding the root system of a plant
The present invention provides a new and useful (i) plant root feeding device (ii) plant root feeding system, (iii) method of feeding a plant, and (iv) method of manufacturing a plant root feeding device. The plant root feeding device comprises a fluid container (emitter) formed of semi permeable material that allows fluid to pass from the inside of the container to a plant root located in ground in proximity to the fluid container. The fluid container has a fluid inlet opening, and a fluid inlet tube is in fluid communication with the fluid inlet opening of the fluid container. The fluid inlet tube has a fixed, fluid sealed coupling to the fluid inlet opening of the fluid container, and the fluid container has a configuration that enables it to be located in ground in proximity to an in ground root system of a plant, and a permeability that enables fluid to pass from the inside of the container to the in ground root system of a plant in proximity to the fluid container.

Method for producing concrete pipes having a plastic inner pipe
Embodiments of a method and a mold for producing a concrete pipe comprising a basic body made of concrete and a plastic inner pipe for conducting a liquid. The method comprises introducing a mold core into the plastic inner pipe, introducing the plastic inner pipe into an outer mold and pouring concrete into an intermediate space between the outer mold and the plastic inner pipe to form the basic body. After the concrete has solidified, the plastic inner pipe remains as inner formwork in the basic body made of concrete and the mold core is removed.
