SYSTEMS AND METHODS OF SEQUESTERING CARBON DIOXIDE IN CONCRETE
Systems and methods of sequestering carbon dioxide in concrete are described herein. The methods include combining water and a foaming agent to form a foaming agent mixture, adding a gas comprising carbon dioxide to the foaming agent mixture in a first mixing chamber, mixing the water, the gas comprising carbon dioxide and the foaming agent to form a foam mixture in the first mixing chamber, the foam mixture comprising a plurality of foam bubbles containing the at least a portion of the carbon dioxide, combining the foam mixture with concrete materials in a second mixing chamber so that the foam mixture contacts the concrete materials, the concrete materials comprising cement, and mixing the foam mixture and the concrete materials in the second mixing chamber to form the concrete having the carbon dioxide sequestered therein.
METHODS AND COMPOSITIONS FOR CONCRETE PRODUCTION
The invention provides compositions and methods directed to carbonation of a cement mix during mixing. The carbonation may be controlled by one or more feedback mechanisms to adjust carbon dioxide delivery based on one or more characteristics of the mix or other aspects of the mixing operation.
Hydraulic and cooling systems
A hydraulic system for a concrete mixer vehicle including an electronically controlled variable displacement hydraulic pump, a distribution manifold fluidly coupled to the hydraulic pump, a hydraulic fan motor coupled to a fan and fluidly coupled to the distribution manifold, an auxiliary system fluidly coupled to the distribution manifold, and a controller structured to: determine a total system demand based at least in part on a fan motor demand and an auxiliary system demand, adjust a displacement of the hydraulic pump to satisfy the total system demand, and operate the hydraulic pump at a pump speed to satisfy the total system demand.
AGGREGATE LOAD SENSOR FOR CONCRETE MANUFACTURING
Aspects involve controlling application of a coolant, such as liquid nitrogen, to an aggregate on a conveyance system based on detecting the presence of the aggregate on the conveyance system. A sensor, such as a load sensor, may be located on or near the conveyance system upstream from a dispensing system of the coolant. The load sensor may detect the presence of aggregate on the conveyance device and provide an indication of the presence to a controller. The controller may, in turn, control a dispensing system to either apply or prevent application of the coolant onto the aggregate in response to the output of the load sensor. Through controlling of the dispensing system based on detection of the presence of aggregate on the conveyance device, damage to the conveyance device may be avoided or prevented, prolonging the life of the conveyance device.
Apparatus for delivery of a predetermined amount of solid and gaseous carbon dioxide
Compositions and methods are provided for a system in which liquid carbon dioxide, or a mixture of liquid and gaseous carbon dioxide, is converted to solid carbon dioxide by exiting an orifice at a sufficient pressure drop, e.g., for delivery of carbon dioxide to a concrete mixture in a mixer.

Methods and compositions for concrete production
The invention provides compositions and methods directed to carbonation of a cement mix during mixing. The carbonation may be in a stationary mixer or a transportable mixer, such as a drum of a ready-mix truck.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR COOLING OF FRESH CONCRETE
An apparatus for cooling fresh concrete using a frame through which the fresh concrete can flow and at least one spoke arranged in the frame. Wherein the at least one spoke has at least one nozzle for discharging a coolant into the fresh concrete. The coolant may be liquid nitrogen or liquid carbon dioxide. The coolant may be introduced into fresh concrete in such a way that the coolant is enclosed by the fresh concrete. In this way, the fresh concrete can be cooled efficiently without large amounts of the coolant being released into the environment and without the fresh concrete becoming so cold in places that damage to, for example, the transport vehicle can occur. The apparatus may be used, in particular, when filling the transport vehicle.
VOLUMETRIC MIXER
A volumetric mixer is provided including a holding section adapted to store one or more materials simultaneously, one or more conveyors disposed in the holding section, a mixing section, one or more heating units disposed in the mixing section, and a control unit. The conveyors are operable to convey materials from the holding section to the mixing section and the one or more conveyors are operable to be individually controlled by the control unit to deliver a pre-determined amount of each material from the holding section to the mixing section.
