METHODS FOR CONSOLIDATING ANTIBIOTIC-ELUTING POLYMERIC MATERIALS
Methods of making consolidated blend(s) of polymeric material(s) with one or more therapeutic agents (such as an antibiotic) are provided, wherein the method comprises the steps of providing a polymeric material, blending the polymeric material with one or more therapeutic agent(s), pelletizing the blended polymeric material, environmentally treating by various approaches the pelletized polymeric material, and consolidating the environmentally treated pellet. Products made by the methods and uses of the products also are provided.
TONER, TONER STORED UNIT, AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
Provided is a toner including at least: a binder resin; and a release agent, wherein in a transmission electron microscopic (TEM) image of a torn cross-section of the toner, the release agent has an acicular or filiform shape and an average aspect ratio of 31 or greater, and wherein a displacement amount of the toner when 250 micronewtons is applied to the toner in a microcompression test is 700 nm or less.
Measurement of product pellets flow rate
A process is described that includes flowing a carrier fluid through a transfer line, feeding polymer pellets into the transfer line at a feed location, measuring a first pressure value of the carrier fluid at a location in the transfer line upstream of the feed location, measuring a second pressure value of the carrier fluid and polymer pellets at a downstream location in the transfer line which is downstream of the feed location, and determining a mass flow rate of the polymer pellets flowing in the transfer line based on a differential pressure between the first pressure value and the second pressure value.
Process for producing water-absorbent polymer particles by polymerizing droplets of a monomer solution
The present invention relates to a process for producing water-absorbent polymer particles by polymerizing droplets of a monomer solution comprising less than 0.3% by weight of persulfate and at least 0.05% by weight of azo initiator and thermal aftertreatment of the formed polymer particles at less than 100° C. in a fluidized bed for 60 to 300 minutes.
Method and apparatus for producing particles, particles, composition, particles dispersion liquid, and method for producing the particles dispersion liquid
A method for producing particles, the method including: depolymerizing a resin to obtain a depolymerized product; contacting the depolymerized product obtained in the depolymerizing with a first compressive fluid to obtain a melted product; and jetting the melted product obtained in the contacting to granulate the particles.

Inkjet 3D printing of multi-component resins
An inkjet printer includes a mixer and a metering system that system provides appropriate amounts of the resin's precursors into the mixer. The mixer thoroughly mixes these precursors and feeds the resulting resin to the printheads. The inkjet printer may include a cleaning system that removes residual resin during or after printing.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR PASTILLATING A FLOWABLE PRODUCT
A device for pastillating a flowable product, in particular a melt. The device has a revolving belt and a drop former, and the drop former deposits product drops on an upper run of the belt. The product drops, in the course of transportation on the upper run of the belt, solidify to form pastilles, and an arrangement for wetting the belt with a liquid release agent is provided upstream of that region in which the product drops are deposited on the belt. The release agent prevents or reduces the adhesion of the product drops to the belt, and a proportional metering pump is provided for continuously mixing the release agent from at least two liquid components during the operation of the device.
PRODUCTION PROCESSING AID
A process includes contacting a metallic acrylic salt with a polyolefin, forming a polyolefin composition. The process includes extruding the polyolefin composition, and pelletizing the extruded polyolefin composition. A production rate of pellets of the polyolefin composition may be equal to or greater than a production rate of pellets of the polyolefin prior to contact with the metallic acrylic salt without increasing extrusion pressure or motor amperes. The polyolefin composition may have a melt flow rate that is lower than the melt flow rate of the polyolefin prior to contact with the metallic acrylic salt. The metallic acrylic salt may only be contacted with the polyolefin to form the polyolefin composition during a start-up of an extruder and pelletizer.
