PROCESSES AND STRUCTURES FOR RECYCLING CARPET AND PRODUCTS OF SUCH PROCESSES

Methods and equipment for the recycling of carpet are disclosed that produce a clean fiber product suitable for industrial use. The methods allow the recovery of face fiber material, for example a polyester, polyolefin, or a polyamide, from carpets that includes a face fiber material, a polypropylene backing material, and an adhesive, and include the steps of mechanically impacting the carpet to break the bonds between the adhesive and the fibrous components, treating the fibrous components to remove adhesive granules from the fibrous components, and optionally separating the polypropylene backing from the face fiber. A clean adhesive/calcium carbonate product can also be produced from this process.

There are provided recycled polystyrene polymers having a melt flow index of less than about 25 g/10 min. There are provided processes for recycling polystyrene waste. The processes can comprise dissolving said polystyrene waste in p-cymene under conditions to obtain a polystyrene/p-cymene mixture, adding the polystyrene/p-cymene mixture to a hydrocarbon polystyrene non-solvent under conditions to obtain precipitated polystyrene and washing the precipitated polystyrene with additional portions of hydrocarbon polystyrene non-solvent under conditions to obtain twice-washed polystyrene. The twice-washed polystyrene can optionally be dried and formed into polystyrene pellets. There is also provided recycled polystyrene obtained from such processes for recycling polystyrene waste.

Composite Epoxy Resin Board and Forming Method Thereof

A composite epoxy resin board, made from a raw material which includes the following weight percentage of components: waste prepreg powders of 5% to 100%, and waste printed circuit board (PCB) powders of 0% to 95%, is disclosed. The present invention adopts the waste prepregs as the main preparation raw material, which not only recycles and reuses prepreg scraps, but also reduces or even eliminates the use of adhesives due to the high epoxy resin content in the prepregs, while also reducing the glue-mixing time in the forming process, thereby simplifying the forming technology.

Pet regranulate having high intrinsic viscosity and method for the production thereof

The invention relates to a PET regranulate which, after modification of a granulated PET recyclate, has an intrinsic viscosity of at least 0.95 dl/g measured according to ASTM D 4603, preferably greater than 1.0 dl/g and particularly preferably between 1.1 dl/g and 1.7 dl/g and is suitable for the production of extrusion blow-molded containers.
