Box pleat curtain
10039403 · 2018-08-07 · ·

A curtain or drapery panel that is formed having hanging grommets and box pleats along the header band that provides support to allow the box pleats to retain their shape without deforming. The drapery is a fabric panel having a header strip along the top thereof. The header strip has a plurality of spaced apart grommets. Between alternating grommets the fabric is pinched together to form a forward facing bow or loop. The bow or loop is then flattened and the top and bottom edges of the loop along the header strip are sewn down to the header strip to flatten the loop into a rectangular flat gathered pleat. Further, the edges of the pleat along the header strip may also be sewn to give it a more defined crisp edge. This draws two adjacent grommets close together on the two opposing sides of the newly formed pleat.

A number of mounting systems are provided for mounting a sheet element with respect to a rail element. In one example, the mounting system includes an elongate mounting tape having a first longitudinal edge portion and a second longitudinal edge portion spaced by a width spacing from the first longitudinal edge portion. The first longitudinal edge portion is configured for being affixed to the sheet element. The second longitudinal edge portion includes a plurality of rail-engaging elements in spaced relationship along the second longitudinal edge portion, the rail-engaging elements being configured for engaging with the rail element and for enabling selective longitudinal movement between the mounting tape and the rail element. The mounting tape is elastically deformable in a width direction, at least when the mounting tape is affixed to the flexible sheet.

Apparatus for manufacturing a pleated curtain

A device for manufacturing a pleated curtain includes elongate pleating means for forming a first fold in the curtain by folding the curtain around a long side of the pleating means along a fold line, clamping means for clamping a pleat portion of the curtain on either side of the first fold along a clamping line parallel to the fold line such that the pleat portion forms a loop, and control means for controlling the pleating means and the clamping means. The control means move the pleating means and/or clamping means such that the pleating means are arranged from a position inside the loop to a position adjacent the loop, while the clamping means clamp the pleat portion, such that a remaining portion of the curtain is folded round an outer end of the clamping means and a second fold is formed adjacently of and parallel to the first fold.

Adjustable Curtain Pleating and Spacing Apparatus

The adjustable curtain pleat apparatus comprises a telescoping cylindrical body with a passage therethrough longitudinally. The body is configured with a securing mechanism along its entire length, allowing the cylindrical sections to extend and retract to selectable lengths. The securing mechanism includes a plurality of locking elements, ensuring the apparatus remains reliably disposed at the desired length and attached to the curtain rod. This allows the apparatus to maintain uniform pleats as the curtain hangs. A plurality of such apparatuses can be used along the curtain rod to achieve evenly spaced pleats of varying widths.
