Repair of refillable or reusable polymer-based packaging
This disclosure provides economical and effective methods and apparatus for repairing scratches and scuffs on refillable bottle surfaces that minimally contaminates the bottle during the refurbishing process. In one aspect, the method comprises the steps of: a) adding at least one fluid into the polymeric packaging material such as a bottle to form at least a partially filled packaging material; and b) applying at least one heat source to an exterior surface of the at least partially filled packaging material to form a repaired polymeric packaging material. Apparatus and recycling systems that incorporate this method are also disclosed.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING USING CLOSED-LOOP TEMPERATURE CONTROL
A system for additive manufacturing comprises a dispensing head for dispensing building materials on a working surface, a hardening system for hardening the building materials, a cooling system for evacuating heat away from the building materials, and a computerized controller. A thermal sensing system is mounted above the working surface in a manner that allows relative motion between the sensing system and the working surface, and is configured to generate sensing signals responsively to thermal energy sensed thereby. The controller controls the dispensing head to dispense the building materials in layers, the sensing system to generate the sensing signals only when the sensing system is above the building materials once hardened, and the heat evacuation rate of the cooling system responsively to the sensing signals.
Configurable cooling assembly and cooling method
A method is provided for managing the temperature of heat sensitive material located near a repair patch being thermally cured on a composite skin using a heating blanket. The method comprises configuring an assembly of thermally conductive cooling blocks to fit within a space between the heating blanket and the heat sensitive material. The assembly of thermally conductive cooling blocks is then installed against the skin within the space, forming a heat sink that conducts a portion of heat out of the composite skin away from the heat sensitive material.

Apparatus And Process For Production Of A Water-Soluble Shell, And Washing Or Cleansing Agent Portion Packs Comprising Said Water-Soluble Shell And Containing A Viscoelastic, Solid Filling Substance
An apparatus for production of a water-soluble shell for holding a filling substance, having a tank filled with a melt of a shell material, wherein the shell material contains a polymer and is water-soluble and is solid under standard conditions, and a male mold movably arranged in the region of the tank and automatically lowerable into the melt and withdrawable from the tank in order to form a water-soluble shell. The invention also relates to a corresponding process and to a corresponding shell and to a corresponding portion pack for use as a washing or cleaning agent.
Method of moulding and mould tool
A method of moulding (10; 20) and apparatus (108; 208; 308) therefor, in which a workpiece (100) is preheated and/or post-cooled before and/or after a moulding process, allowing optimal use of the tool for high precision moulding operations.

METHOD OF PRODUCING A METAL FORM CONTAINING DISPERSED AEROGEL PARTICLES IMPREGNATED WITH POLYMERS
A method of producing a metal form containing dispersed aerogel particles impregnated with polymers comprising a method of impregnating an aerogel with polymers, placing the aerogel impregnated with polymers within a dissolved polymer, cooling the dissolved polymer to create a polymer form with dispersed aerogel particles impregnated with polymers, adding molten metal to the polymer form, vaporizing the polymer form, replacing the polymer form with molten metal, and cooling the molten metal to yield a metal form containing dispersed aerogel particles impregnated with polymers. Dispersing the aerogel particles impregnated with polymers within the polymer form prior to adding molten metal allows the aerogel particles to be fully dispersed throughout the metal form.
