Systems and methods for viscous material vacuum deaeration, and systems and methods for depositing compounds in a structure
10512857 · 2019-12-24 · ·

Presently disclosed systems and methods for depositing a compound into a void in a sandwich panel or other structure are configured to reduce the air pressure in and around the void as the compound flows into the void, thereby reducing the amount of air trapped between the compound and the sandwich panel skin (under the compound, within the void) during the repair. Additionally or alternatively, presently disclosed systems and methods for deaerating a compound are configured to remove trapped air from the compound prior to use of the compound (e.g., prior to depositing the compound within a void for repairing the void). In some examples, the same system is configured to both deaerate the compound and deposit the deaerated compound to the void, all while in a reduced air pressure environment inside a vacuum chamber.

The present invention provides a method for producing a resin molded article through which air bubbles are not easily formed during imprint molding when a curable composition is applied to a mold having a pattern shaped section. The method for producing a resin molded article is a method for producing a resin molded article through imprint molding, the method including: a specific curable composition application process such as the curable composition application process (1) below, in which a curable composition having a contact angle of 50 or less on a mold having a pattern shaped section is applied to a portion of the mold uncoated with the curable composition; and a curing process in which the curable composition applied to the mold is cured to obtain a resin molded article; (1) a curable composition application process including a microparticle application step in which the curable composition is applied such that a particle size of microparticles of the curable composition when adhering to the mold is 0.5 mm or less.

Methods for manufacturing bulked continuous filament from recycled PET
11911930 · 2024-02-27 · ·

A method of manufacturing bulked continuous carpet filament that includes providing a polymer melt and separating the polymer melt from the extruder into at least eight streams. The multiple streams are exposed to a chamber pressure within a chamber that is below approximately 25 millibars, or another predetermined pressure. The streams are recombined into a single polymer stream. Polymer from the polymer stream is then formed into bulked continuous carpet filament.

METHOD FOR SUPPLYING A MOLDING DEVICE WITH POLYMERIZABLE MIXTURE AND ASSOCIATED SUPPLY DEVICE
20240051191 · 2024-02-15 ·

The invention relates to a method for supplying a polymerizable mixture to at least one molding device, said method comprising the following steps: a) providing a tank containing the polymerizable mixture (box E1), b) reaching a set value of pressure (Ps) in the tank, smaller than the ambient pressure (box E2), c) continuously maintaining the pressure (P) in the tank at the set value of pressure while supplying the polymerizable mixture to the molding device (boxes E3, E4, E41, E42, E5, E51). The invention also relates to a supply device for supplying the molding device with polymerizable mixture.

A method of manufacturing bulked continuous carpet filament which, in various embodiments, comprises: (A) grinding recycled PET bottles into a group of flakes; (B) washing the flakes; (C) identifying and removing impurities, including impure flakes, from the group of flakes; (D) passing the group of flakes through an MRS extruder while maintaining the pressure within the MRS portion of the MRS extruder below about 1.5 millibars; (E) passing the resulting polymer melt through at least one filter having a micron rating of less than about 50 microns; and (F) forming the recycled polymer into bulked continuous carpet filament that consists essentially of recycled PET.

Molding method and mold therefor

Molding methods and molds for making a synthetic resin molded product include disposing a curable liquid resin mixture in a recess of a female mold. The curable liquid resin mixture is then simultaneously agitated and degassed by a mixer while under a partial vacuum. More specifically, at least the female mold is orbited around an orbital axis while being rotated about a rotational axis that is eccentric to the orbital axis. After being thoroughly mixed and degassed, the liquid mixture is then cured in the mold unit.

System with plug assembly for continuous molding and curing of tire tread

A system for the continuous extrusion, molding, and curing of tread for tires. An elongated strip of rubber material can be molded and cured shortly after extrusion such that the material retains much of the heat energy of extrusion and does not have to be stored. A plurality of discrete mold assemblies are conveyed adjacent to each other. As the mold assemblies are advanced sequentially, the uncured and unmolded strip of rubber material are extruded and positioned onto the mold assemblies. While the rubber strip advances, individual portions are sequentially molded and cured by passing through a mold press and then a curing press. A plug assembly is used to prevent the backflow of rubber material during the molding and curing.

THREE-DIMENSIONAL PRINTING METHODS FOR REDUCING BUBBLES BY DE-GASSING THROUGH BUILD PLATE

A method and an apparatus of forming a three-dimensional object includes providing a carrier and an optically transparent member having a build surface. The carrier and the build surface define a build region therebetween. The method further includes filling said build region with a polymerizable liquid; continuously or intermittently irradiating said build region with light through said optically transparent member to form a solid polymer from said polymerizable liquid; applying a reduced pressure and/or polymer inhibitor-enriched gas to the polymerizable liquid through the optically transparent member to thereby reduce a gas content of the polymerizable liquid; and continuously or intermittently advancing (e.g., sequentially or concurrently with said irradiating step) said carrier away from said build surface to form said three-dimensional object from said solid polymer.

METHOD FOR CONSOLIDATING AN ADDITIVELY MANUFACTURED PIECE

Methods and systems for consolidating an additively manufactured piece. In one embodiment, methods include the step of combining the additively manufactured piece with another piece, for example with another additively manufactured piece or with a piece that is not additively manufactured (e.g. an insert, foam, etc.), so that during a consolidation step, those pieces are assembled or connected together.
