METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR REMOVING FLASH FROM A TIRE
An apparatus for removing flash from a tire includes a laser sensor which, while the tire is rotating, can be moved along the outer contour of the shoulders and tread area of a tire to detect the contour of the tire. A first sanding assembly removes the flash from the tread area, while the tire is not rotating, by moving horizontally and vertically in accordance with the detected contour of the tread area. A second sanding assembly removes the flash from the shoulder area, while the tire is rotating, by moving horizontally, vertically, and pivotally in accordance with the detected contour of the shoulder area.

Tire-Trimming Device and Method
Provided are a tire-trimming device and method. The method includes: detecting a profile of a tire outer surface and a position thereof by using a profile sensor while rotating the tire; inputting data detected by the profile sensor into a control unit; when removing the unnecessary rubber components, selecting, from among a plurality of different types of the trimming tool, a trimming tool which is of a type set in the control unit in advance for use in a location on which the unnecessary rubber components are formed; moving the selected trimming tool and the tire relative to one another on the basis of the data detected by the profile sensor; and positioning a tip end section of the trimming tool along the detected profile of the tire outer surface.
Method for treating a polymer workpiece for use in a joint implant
The present invention provides a method for treating a polymer workpiece (1) for use in a joint implant. It comprises the steps of placing the polymer workpiece in an explosion chamber, introducing a combustible gas mixture into the explosion chamber and igniting the combustible gas mixture. Igniting the gas mixture in the explosion chamber produces a temperature that lies above the melting point of a polymer of the polymer workpiece.

System and method for using a VOC free low radiant flux LED UV curable composition
The present invention generally relates to a system and method for using a volatile organic compound (VOC) free low radiant flux LED UV curable composition, and more particularly to unique and novel uses of the composition such as one or two or more of a fire retardant, clear coat, composite material, resin, top coat, improved holdout coating, a sealant coat, and combinations of the same.
DEFLASHING MACHINE AND METHOD OF DEFLASHING A LENS-MOLD-ASSEMBLY
A deflashing machine (100) including a lens-mold-assembly-rotation mechanism (110) having a coaxially aligned first and second rotary parts (112, 114). The first and second rotary parts (1112, 114) being operable for holding the lens-mold-assembly (102) therebetween, and rotatable about a common axis (113). The machine further includes a deflashing mechanism (120) having a first blade (130) and a second blade (140) disposed at a first radial position and a second radial position from the common axis (113) respectively. The first blade (130) having a trimming edge (132) parallel to the common axis (113) for engaging a circumferential surface of the lens-mold-assembly (102) held between the first rotary part (112) and the second rotary part (114). The second blade (140) having a trimming edge (142) radially aligned with respect to the common axis (113) for engaging a convex surface (106) or a concave surface (101) of the lens-mold-assembly (102) held between the first rotary part (112) and the second rotary part (114).

Process and apparatus for chemical smoothing of plastic parts
The invention relates to a process and an apparatus for chemical smoothing of a plastic part (10) produced by selective layerwise consolidation of a construction material. The process comprises the steps of: temperature-controlling the plastic part to a first temperature; temperature-controlling solvent vapour (8) comprising a solvent to a second temperature; subjecting the plastic part (10) to the solvent vapour (8) temperature-controlled to the second temperature for a particular duration, wherein the subjecting of the plastic part (10) to the solvent vapour (8) has the result that an outer layer of the plastic part (10) is liquefied; and discharging at least a portion of the solvent vapour (8) after the particular duration, wherein the plastic part (10) is stationary from commencement of the temperature-controlling of the plastic part until termination of the discharging of the solvent vapour (8).
Burr trimming device
A burr trimming device includes a removing assembly and a directed spraying assembly disposed on a carrier, wherein the directed spraying assembly has a nozzle facing the removing assembly. The directed spraying assembly rapidly freezes objects such as burrs and then the removing assembly removes the hardened objects by coming into rigid contact therewith, thereby ensuring complete removal of the fine flexible burrs.
