Air freshener

An air freshener has a rigidifying core defining a central axis, and an outer portion or sleeve contacting the core that is formed from one or more fragrance loaded polymers. Together, the core and outer portion are shaped to surround a first axis perpendicular to the central axis. The air freshener is made by injection molding a first shot of at least one polymer material to form the core, and injection molding a second shot of at least one polymer material incorporating one or more fragrance materials over or onto or into at least a portion of the core. The second shot of polymer material may be stretched about the portion of the core during injection molding, and may flow into a first hole formed in the core at or near the core distal end, and fills a second hole formed in the core at or near the core proximal end.

A biodegradable container including a unitary polymeric body element having a top portion and a cylindrical body portion. The top portion has a cylindrical neck wherein the cylindrical neck defines an inner surface and an outer surface. The container further includes a polymeric bottom element welded to the cylindrical body portion of the unitary polymeric body element. A polymeric cap defines an internal rim configured to be received by the inner surface of the cylindrical neck. The polymeric cap includes an external cover having an interior surface which may be tapered so that the outer surface of the cylindrical neck and the interior surface of the external cover form an inner seal. The interior surface of the external cover may also form an outer seal with the outer surface of the cylindrical neck when the polymeric cap is in a closed position.

METHODS OF OVERMOLDING SOFTER MATERIAL WITH HARDER MATERIAL AND MOISTURE TIGHT CONTAINER ASSEMBLIES MADE BY THE METHODS

A method of over-molding materials includes: providing a first material in a groove in a first portion of a mold such that only a single surface of the first material is exposed to a vacant portion of the mold; providing, via an injection molding process, a second material in a liquid form in the vacant portion of the mold adjacent to, and in engagement with, the first material; and allowing the second material to solidify and become directly coupled to the first material, thus forming a single component. The second material has one or both of a greater hardness when solidified than the first material and/or a higher melting temperature than the first material.

The device further comprises at least one pusher device (44), which is designed in a first position to allow a connection of the object molding region (38) and the distribution region (40), and in a second position to separate the object molding region (38) and the distribution region (40) from one another, wherein the mold insert (18) can be moved along a movement axis (B) relative to the feed region (12), and wherein the pusher device (44) can be actuated according to the relative movement.

Process and apparatus to injection mold continuous lengths of hollow plastic articles
10562212 · 2020-02-18 ·

A method and apparatus for manufacturing continuous ribbed pipes of thermoplastic resin material comprises the following successive steps. A length of pipe is injection molded in a mold cavity between a collapsible male mold element and female mold elements, the latter being shaped to provide integral ribbing on the outer surface of the pipe. After sufficient setting, the female mold elements are disengaged and the male mold element is collapsed and disengaged. A plunger then pushes the pipe length axially along the male mold element. The female mold elements and the collapsed male mold element are then re-engaged such that the one end of the formed pipe forms a closure for the mold cavity at the downstream end. Further material is again injected into the cavity which fuses with the one pipe end and which forms a further pipe length. These steps are repeated until the desired length of pipe is formed.
