To reduce fibre breakage and ensure good mixing, according to the invention a mixing part is provided downstream and/or upstream of the backflow stop, the mixing part being connected to the screw in a rotationally fixed manner for conjoint rotation therewith and having a cylindrical main body with drop-shaped mixing elements arranged thereon.

A fiber-reinforced polymer composition that comprises a polymer matrix that contains a propylene polymer is provided. The polymer matrix constitutes from about 30 wt. % to about 80 wt. % of the composition, and a plurality of long reinforcing fibers that are distributed within the polymer matrix. The fibers constitute from about 20 wt. % to about 70 wt. % of the composition. The polymer composition exhibits a spiral flow length of about 450 millimeters or more as determined in accordance with ASTM D3121-09, and after aging at a temperature of 150° C. for 1,000 hours, a Charpy unnotched impact strength greater than about 15 kJ/m.sup.2 as determined at a temperature of 23° C. in accordance with ISO Test No. 179-1:2010.

A fiber-reinforced polymer composition that contains a polymer matrix and a plurality of long reinforcing fibers that are distributed within the polymer matrix is provided. The polymer matrix contains a propylene polymer and constitutes from about 30 wt. % to about 90 wt. % of the composition. The molding system includes a molding machine; a mold disposed on the molding machine and having a mold cavity for being filled with a molding resin including a plurality of polymer chains; a processing module configured to generate an anisotropic viscosity distribution of the molding resin in the mold cavity based on a molding condition for the molding machine; wherein the anisotropic viscosity distribution of the molding resin is generated based in part on consideration of an integral effect of a volume fraction and an aspect ratio of the plurality of fibers; and a controller coupled to the processing module and configured to control the molding machine with the molding condition using the generated anisotropic viscosity distribution of the molding resin to perform an actual molding process for preparing the injection-molded plastic article.
