METHODS FOR MAKING FLEXIBLE CONTAINERS AND ASSOCIATED PRODUCTS

Disclosed is a method for making a flexible container. The method implements an injection mold having a collapsible core that expands/moves to define the apertures and, in some embodiments, holds a flexible film in place during the injection mold process and collapses/moves back post-injection molding to allow for the flexible container to be readily removed from the die. In addition, the method described includes a post-injection molding anneal process that is implemented to allow the flexible film to shrink so as to provide for form-fitting of the film to the molded portion of the container.

INTEGRATED DEPTH SENSOR WINDOW LENS AND METHOD

A method of making an integrated depth sensor window lens, such as for an augmented reality (AR) head set, the depth sensor window lens comprising a sensor lens and an illuminator lens separated by an opaque dam. The method uses a two-shot injection molding process, a first shot comprising an optically clear polymeric material to form the sensor lens and the illuminator lens and the second shot comprising an opaque polymeric material to form the separator of the two.

A housing part includes a base section having a pair of oppositely disposed flat sides, a pair of housing sections each extending away from one of the pair of oppositely disposed flat sides, and a plurality of fibers disposed in the base section and the housing sections. A main fiber orientation of the fibers in each of the housing sections is oriented away from the base section.

Resin molded product and method for producing resin molded product

A resin molded product (10) includes a resin molded product main body (11), and a protrusion (12) integrally formed with the resin molded product main body (11) and protruding from the resin molded product main body (11). At injection molding of the resin molded product (10), molten resin flows through a portion (C-1) corresponding to the protrusion (12) in a cavity (C) defined by a pair of molds (20, 30). A concave portion (14) is formed on a rear side of the protrusion (12), and a bulging portion (12a) having a hollow bag shape is formed on a front side of the protrusion (12).

FORMING MOLD FOR PRESSURE CONTAINER LINER AND MOLDING METHOD FOR PRESSURE CONTAINER LINER

Provided is a forming mold for a pressure container liner including a female serration on an upper face of a top portion. The forming mold includes an insert including a recessed-projecting portion by which the female serration is to be formed. The insert includes a lower layer and an upper layer divided from each other in the up-down direction. Bolt holes are formed in respective radial central parts of the upper layer and the lower layer. Gaps on contacting faces between the upper layer and the lower layer are set to a size that allows gas to pass through the gaps but does not allow nylon resin to pass through the gaps. An air-discharge passage via which a vicinal area of the recessed-projecting portion is connected to the bolt holes is formed on the contacting faces.

Resin composition

A resin composition is provided which includes a resin component, a fibrous filler, and a plate-like filler. With respect to 100 parts by mass of the resin component, the content of the fibrous filler is from 30 parts by mass or more to 100 parts by mass or less, the content of the plate-like filler is from 20 parts by mass or more to 80 parts by mass or less, and the total content of the fibrous filler and the plate-like filler is from 50 parts by mass or more to 180 parts by mass or less. The resin component includes an amorphous resin, and the content of the amorphous resin is from 60 parts by mass or more to 100 parts by mass or less.

SHEAR-INDUCING INJECTION MOLDING SYSTEM

A polymer injection molding system in one embodiment includes a manifold comprising internal flow conduits configured for conveying polymer in a fluidic state. The manifold may be part of a hot or cold runner type molding unit. An injection nozzle fluidly coupled to the flow conduits interfaces with a mold cavity and is configured to inject polymer therein to form a molded article. The nozzle has a tubular valve body defining a central axial passage which receives a movable elongated valve pin. The valve pin is linearly movable to change the nozzle between open and closed positions for discharging or stopping polymer flow therefrom. The valve pin is further rotatable about its axis to induce shear on the polymer. This maintains the polymer in its flowable fluidic state between molding cycles to prevent polymer cold slug formation within the nozzle which can disrupt the flow resulting in incompletely formed articles.

To produce sealing plates (1) consisting of a plurality of sealing rings (3) connected by radial webs (2) by injection molding, wall-type guide elements (5) are arranged obliquely to the direction of flow in the mold channel (6) which is therefore initially largely constricted in the region of weld lines (15) formed by the convergence of the fronts of the divided plastic melt streams, said guide elements being moved out of the mold channel (6) during the further filling of same so that the strength is significantly improved in the region of the weld lines (15).

Dissimilar material joint and housing for accommodating electronic components

A dissimilar material joint including a joined portion between a resin rib and a metal base, in which the metal base forms a protrusion protruding inside of the resin rib on at least a part of the joined portion.

Polygonal mirror, deflector, optical scanning apparatus and image forming apparatus

A polygonal mirror includes reflecting surfaces, a molded member including a first surface and a second surface, a contact portion, and gate marks. Each of said first surface and said second surface has a polygonal shape. The contact portion and the gate marks are formed at non-overlapping positions with a line segment connecting a vertex of the polygonal shape with a rotation center. The gate marks and the reflecting surfaces are the same in number. A perpendicular bisector of a line segment connecting centers of the gate marks adjacent to each other with respect to a rotational direction of the polygonal mirror is formed at a position passing through an associated vertex of the polygonal shape and the rotation center.
