A corrugator for an extrusion system for shaping a tubular plastic product, having a multiplicity of mould blocks, a guide track, along which the mould blocks are guided in each case in pairs during the operation of the corrugator from a starting region of the guide track towards an outlet region of the guide track, a first return track, along which the mould blocks are guided during the operation of the corrugator from the outlet region towards the starting region, and a second return track, with the aid of which individual mould blocks can be removed from the first return track and/or can be inserted into the latter during the operation of the corrugator.

Method for Production of Low Density Polyester Foam and Articles Made Thereof Utilizing Low I.V. Polyester Feedstock
20190127543 · 2019-05-02 ·

A method for producing low density polyester foam utilizing low I.V. polyester feedstock includes providing a low intrinsic viscosity raw material. The low intrinsic viscosity raw material includes between 25% to 100% of a post consumer polyester and has an intrinsic viscosity of less than 0.8 dl/g. The intrinsic viscosity of the low intrinsic viscosity raw material is increased via a de-condensation reaction configured to support foaming. The intrinsic viscosity of the low intrinsic viscosity raw material is increased to 1.1 dl/g or greater. A starting formulation is created including the low intrinsic viscosity raw material with the increased intrinsic viscosity. The starting formulation is foamed to create the polyester foam. Wherein, the polyester foam produced has a specific gravity of less than 0.65 g/cc.

Continuous extrusion forming apparatus
10207442 · 2019-02-19 · ·

An apparatus of the present invention is a continuous extrusion forming apparatus comprising: a screw which carries a forming raw material in the horizontal direction, the screw being built in the screw part; and a mouth piece structure for extrusion forming, which is provided on the downstream side of a screw part, wherein the mouth piece structure has a horizontal channel for extruding the forming raw material flowing in from the screw part in the horizontal direction, an extrusion channel orthogonal to the horizontal channel, and an extrusion port provided at a tip end of the extrusion channel, and wherein a mouth piece structure holder which holds the mouth piece structure is provided with a turning means which freely changes the opening direction of the extrusion port between the horizontal direction and a floor facing direction.

Multilayer film for flexible wrapping
10201952 · 2019-02-12 · ·

A subject of the present invention relates to a multilayer (or laminate) film, that can be used in the field of flexible wrapping, comprising at least 2 thin layers of material bonded together by a layer of an adhesive composition based on a styrene block copolymer. It also relates to a lamination process suitable for the manufacture of said film.

Extrusion apparatus
10201925 · 2019-02-12 · ·

An extrusion apparatus is provided with a cylindrical die, a core that is placed inside the die, that is able to move relatively to the die in an axial direction of the die, and that forms a flow path for molten resin between the core and the die, a recessed portion that is provided partway along the flow path and that is recessed in the axial direction, and a separator that is inserted into the recessed portion in the axial direction, an insertion position of the separator in the axial direction changing in conjunction with the movement of the core relative to the die, and that cuts the molten resin by means of a portion thereof that extends from the recessed portion into the flow path.

DISCHARGE CONTAINER FOR DISCHARGING CONTENTS ONTO DISCHARGE SURFACE
20190001545 · 2019-01-03 · ·

The present invention discloses a discharge container that is provided with the following: a container body in which contents are stored; a securing member; a discharge vessel including a stem; an exterior section including a top wall section penetrated by molded holes and that discharges the contents from the perforation holes onto a discharge surface of the top wall section; and an inner plate which is provided so as to be freely movable inside the exterior section and which forms a diffusion chamber in the space that is formed with a supply surface of the top wall section.

Long fiber extrusion apparatus and method

A long fiber extrusion apparatus applies a polymer melt to a length of fiber using a die and an extruder where the length of fiber is directed to the die through a glass tube. The transparency of the glass tube enables viewing of the fiber as it is directed through the glass tube to monitor for any difficulties or problems encountered by the fiber passing through the glass tube. The glass interior surface of the glass tube reduces friction between the fiber and the glass surface and thereby reduces abrasion of the fiber and dust produced from abrasion of the fiber inside the glass tube.

Methods of Making a Film of Dynamically Vulcanized Thermoplastic Elastomeric Materials

Methods and systems for making a film made of dynamically vulcanized thermoplastic elastomeric material are provided herein. The subject methods and systems achieve dimensional stability of an elastic film by applying thermal treatment as part of the film making process and enhance the shrinkage of the film by intentionally with stretching the film while hot and freezing the film in the stretch. The systems and methods are useful in controlling shrinkage of DVA post film extrusion.
