LIGHTWEIGHT BASE FOR CARBONATED BEVERAGE PACKAGING

This disclosure provides generally container base designs for use in packaging carbonated beverages and new containers that incorporate the base design. It has been found that improved physical and mechanical properties such as good stress crack performance can be achieving while improved light weighting and potential cost savings. The particular base and container designs are generally applicable to carbonated soft drink (CSD) containers, and can be used with containers of any size and with any type of base form such as petaloid or champagne base forms.

Preform coating device

A preform coating device is provided with: a conveyance part that conveys a preform; a dispenser that discharges a coating liquid toward the preform; a drier that is disposed along the conveyance route of the conveyance part so as to be separated from the dispenser, and that dries the coating liquid applied to the preform by irradiating, with infrared rays, the coating liquid applied to the preform; and a first air sending mechanism that sends air, toward the preform, for inhibiting the temperature of the preform from rising at the position where the preform is irradiated with infrared rays by the drier.

Articles of footwear including a thermo-molded upper having a skin composed of one or more low melting point thermoplastic polymers. The skin may include at least one of: a base layer composed of a low melting point thermoplastic polymer and a grid layer including a yarn composed of a low melting point thermoplastic polymer. The uppers may be formed by placing a skin and an inflatable bladder into a mold cavity and heating the mold to a predetermined temperature. The inflatable bladder may be inflated such that the skin is pressed against an interior surface of the heated mold cavity to cause the skin to take on the shape of the internal surface of the mold cavity, thereby forming an upper for an article of footwear.

A method of manufacturing fuel tanks made of polymer material using a blow molding technique, the method including: offering up at least one sheet form extrudate between two opposing cavities of an open mold with an impression that corresponds to a shape of a tank that is to manufactured; then bringing the two cavities together until the mold is closed; as the two cavities are being moved closer together and before the extrudate comes into contact with one of them, injecting a first fluid between the extrudate and at least one cavity; injecting a second fluid on the opposite side of the extrudate from each cavity, to press it firmly against the wall of the cavity; removing the first fluid present between the cavity and the extrudate before end of injection of the second fluid.

Composite container, inner label and plastic member

A composite preform including a preform and a plastic member in close contact with the outer surface of the preform is made by preparing the preform made of plastic material and arranging the plastic member to surround the outer surface of the preform. Subsequently, the composite preform is heated and inserted in a blow molding die and undergoes blow molding in the blow molding die, by which the preform and the plastic member of the composite preform are inflated integrally and a composite container is obtained.
