Articles of poly(butylene succinate) and copolymers thereof
Resorbable implants, coverings and receptacles comprising poly(butylene succinate) and copolymers thereof have been developed. The implants are preferably sterilized, and contain less than 20 endotoxin units per device as determined by the limulus amebocyte lysate (LAL) assay, and are particularly suitable for use in procedures where prolonged strength retention is necessary, and can include one or more bioactive agents. The implants may be made from fibers and meshes of poly(butylene succinate) and copolymers thereof, or by 3d printing molding, pultrusion or other melt or solvent processing method. The implants, or the fibers preset therein, may be oriented. These coverings and receptacles may be used to hold, or partially/fully cover, devices such as pacemakers and neurostimulators. The coverings, receptacles and implants described herein, may be made from meshes, webs, lattices, non-wovens, films, fibers, foams, molded, pultruded, machined and 3D printed forms.
Thermoplastic Composite Braided Preforms for Elongated Structural Profiles and Methods for Manufacture of Same
Thermoplastic composite preforms for continuous fiber thermoplastic composite structural profiles and a system and method of manufacture for structural profiles utilizing thermoplastic filaments comingled with high strength fibers such as carbon fibers and braided into complex preforms suitable for automated press forming is disclosed. Utilizing flexible preforms in lieu of conventional rigid thermoplastic pre-preg material forms allows for manufacture of complex shapes, including both straight and curved shapes by an automated process.
POST POLYMERIZATION CURE SHAPE MEMORY POLYMERS
This invention relates to chemical polymer compositions, methods of synthesis, and fabrication methods for devices regarding polymers capable of displaying shape memory behavior (SMPs) and which can first be polymerized to a linear or branched polymeric structure, having thermoplastic properties, subsequently processed into a device through processes typical of polymer melts, solutions, and dispersions and then crossed linked to a shape memory thermoset polymer retaining the processed shape.
Method of forming a dental appliance
The present disclosure includes dental appliances and methods of making and using such appliances. One method for forming a dental appliance includes forming a liquid thermoset polymer material into a semi-solid first shape, thermoforming the semi-solid first shape of thermoset polymer material onto a dentition mold, and curing the thermoset polymer on the dentition mold with a curative trigger to complete a molecular cross-linking reaction.
Biocomposite and/or biomaterial with sunflower seed shells/husks
The invention relates to a biomaterial and/or a biocomposite based on sunflower seed shells/husks. According to the invention, it is proposed that sunflower seed shells/husks are used instead of wood, bamboo or other wood-like fiber products as the original material for the biocomposite products and are used for the production of such products in order to improve the previous biomaterials, and in particular also to design said materials for improved cost efficiency and to improve their material properties.
IMMOBILISATION DEVICE
The present invention relates to a template for a positioning, fixation, mobilization or immobilization device, wherein the template comprises a sheet of a thermoplastic material, wherein the thermoplastic material comprises between 3.0 and 95.0 wt. % of a poly--caprolactone polymer, preferably a poly--caprolactone homopolymer, and at least 5.0 wt. % of at least one second polymer material with a melting temperature of between 40 and 85 C., wherein the at least one second polymer material is selected from the group of one or more of a polyalkenamer or a thermoplastic linear polyurethane which contains as a polyol a poly -caprolactone or a polyester polyol, wherein the poly--caprolactone polymer and the second thermoplastic material are cross-linked.
MEDICAL DEVICES CONTAINING COMPOSITIONS OF POLY(BUTYLENE SUCCINATE) AND COPOLYMERS THEREOF

VACUUM FORMING PROCESS
The present invention relates to vacuum forming process for moulding a thermoset material and a start-up process for moulding a thermoset material. The present invention also relates to articles produced by the vacuum forming process.
3D thermoformed element
A three-dimensional vacuum thermal insulation element having a compressed three-dimensional porous structure and a shell closed in an airtight manner. The shell includes a thermoformable barrier wall and encloses the porous structure arranged between two major surfaces of said barrier wall. The porous structure has a pressure of between less than 105 Pa and more than 10-2 Pa at ambient external temperature and pressure. The barrier wall is thermoformed at the site of said two major surfaces, between which the porous structure has a curved shape and/or reliefs and/or depressions.
