CRYSTALLIZABLE SHRINKABLE FILMS AND THERMOFORMABLE SHEETS MADE FROM RESINS BLENDS
The present disclosure relates to crystallizable shrinkable films and thermoformable film(s) or sheet(s) comprising blends of polyester compositions which comprise residues of terephthalic acid, neopentyl glycol (NRG), 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol (CHDM), ethylene glycol (EG), and diethylene glycol (DEG), in certain compositional ranges having certain advantages and improved properties.
Oriented polypropylene film with improved blocking resistance
The present disclosure is directed to a film formulation that resulted in a substantially non-migratory cold seal release film with improved blocking resistance. Specifically, the multilayered biaxially oriented polypropylene film can include a core layer of polypropylene homopolymer; a first outer layer on one side of the core layer that can be suitable for sealing, printing, or coating; and a second outer layer on the opposite side of the core layer that is a blocking resistant layer comprising thermoplastic polymers which reduce blocking tendency.
DOUBLE-LAYER POLYESTER FILM AND LAMINATED METAL SHEET
A double-layer polyester film is of a structure having upper and lower layers. Each of the upper and lower layers comprises a copolyester and an additional resin, and is a uniform mixture of the copolyester and the additional resin. The copolyester comprises SiO.sub.2 having a mass fraction of 800-2000 ppm added by means of in-situ polymerization. The copolyester is a PET polyester modified by copolymerization of isophthalic acid, 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol, and neopentyl glycol. The polyester film has thinner thickness, good thermal adhesion with a metal sheet, excellent resistance to deep drawing and complex deformation processing, and excellent corrosion resistance, and can be widely used in metal packaging industry.
FILM FOR COATING METAL SHEET AND RESIN COATED METAL SHEET
A film for coating a metal sheet, the film satisfying that: a ratio (E.sub.MD/E.sub.TD) of a Young's modulus E.sub.MD in a lengthwise direction to a Young's modulus E.sub.TD in a width direction is 1.1 to 4.0; and a thermal shrinkage rate, measured by a thermo-mechanical analyzer, in both lengthwise and width directions at 200° C. is equal to or smaller than 20%.
ALIPHATIC POLYESTER COPOLYMER
An object of the present invention is to provide a stretchable polyester having shape followability and flexibility by elastic response and being able to suppress deterioration over time due to secondary crystallization. The present invention provides a stretchable polyester which is an aliphatic copolymer polyester containing two or more types of monomer units, wherein the stretchable polyester contains an α-form and an amorphous structure, and a degree of orientation determined by X-ray of the α-form is 50% or greater.
PIPE FOR TRANSPORT OF CHLORINATED WATER
The invention relates to use of a pipe for transporting chlorinated water, wherein the pipe is a biaxially oriented pipe made by a process comprising the steps of: a) forming a polymer composition comprising a polyolefin into a tube and b) stretching the tube of step a) in the axial direction and in the peripheral direction to obtain the biaxially oriented pipe.
Polyamide resin member and production method therefor
The present invention achieves higher performance (improvement in, for example, heat resistance, durability, and mechanical characteristics) of polyamide resin by a method which is not dependent on a combination with fibers. According to an embodiment of a polyamide resin member of the present invention, the polyamide resin member contains nano-oriented crystals of polyamide 66, and has a high heatproof temperature (T.sub.h≈278° C.) and a high melting point (T.sub.m≈282° C.).
A METHOD AND PREFORM FOR FORMING A DEVICE COMPRISING A SHAPE MEMORY POLYMER
There is provided herein a method of manufacturing a device comprising at least a first fibre using a draw apparatus, the method comprising: providing a first preform comprising a shape memory polymer to the draw apparatus; heating a first portion of the first preform; and drawing, using the draw apparatus, the heated first portion in order to form the first fibre.
