Flexible packaging structure with built-in tamper-evidence features and method for making same
A flexible packaging laminate has built-in opening/reclose and tamper-evidence features by forming the laminate from an outer structure joined in face-to-face relation to an inner structure. Score lines are formed in both structures to enable an opening to be formed through the laminate by lifting a flap or the like out of the plane of the laminate. The score line through the outer structure defines a larger opening than the score line through the inner structure, such that a marginal region of the outer structure extends beyond the edge of the opening portion of the inner structure. A pressure-sensitive adhesive is used to re-adhere the marginal region to an underlying surface of the inner structure adjacent the opening through the laminate. The outer score line includes at least one tear portion that is torn through upon initial opening, thus indicating the package has been at least partially opened.
CONDUIT AND METHOD OF FORMING
A thin ribbon spirally wound polymer conduit and method of forming, wherein a helical reinforcing bead is interposed adjacent overlapping layers of ribbon. Further, a method of continuously forming spirally wound conduit wherein a sacrificial layer, preferably having a different base polymer to that of the conduit, is first applied to the former before the conduit is formed overtop.
Retroreflective sheeting including cube corner elements
The present disclosure is directed to lamina(e) comprising cube corner elements, a tool comprising an assembly of laminae and replicas thereof. The disclosure further relates to retroreflective sheeting.
FLEXIBLE PACKAGING STRUCTURE WITH BUILT-IN TAMPER-EVIDENCE FEATURES AND METHOD FOR MAKING SAME
A flexible packaging laminate has built-in opening/reclose and tam per-evidence features by forming the laminate from an outer structure joined in face-to-face relation to an inner structure.

RELEASE AGENT SUPPLY DEVICE FOR COLD KNIFE WEAKENING AND A COLD KNIFE SYSTEM COMPRISING SUCH A DEVICE
A release agent supply device for cold knife weakening comprising: a wheel which adapted to roll in a weakening line formed by cold knife weakening; a nozzle, the opening of the nozzle is close to the rim of the wheel with a small distance (d1) and orients to the wheel; and a release agent feeder which is in fluid communication with the nozzle for providing the release agent to the nozzle; wherein the nozzle is adapted to supply the release agent to the wheel, and the wheel is adapted to apply the release agent to the weakening line when rolling therein The release agent supply device comprises simple structure, and is easy to be added on the ordinary cold knife.
Compliant Biocompatible Device and Method of Manufacture
As detailed herein, a biocompatible apparatus comprises a porous material comprising ceramic nanotubes bound together with a filler material. The proportion of the filler material may be selected to provide porosity for the porous material that is biocompatible, and the porous material may be shaped to provide a compliant biomedical device. In one embodiment, the compliant biomedical device is a stent such as intravascular stent. A method for fabricating a biocompatible device is also described herein. The method may include growing ceramic nanotubes on a substrate, infiltrating the ceramic nanotubes with a filler material to provide a porous material having a porosity that is biocompatible, and removing the porous material from the substrate to provide a biocompatible ceramic device. The method may also include coating the biocompatible ceramic device with a drug-eluting material.
METHOD FOR EMBOSSING A COMPONENT
The present disclosure concerns a method for embossing a component, a method for connecting a component to a second component via a substance-to-substance bond, and a device, e.g., a heat exchanger, having such a component. The method for embossing includes embossing a support groove into the component at least in some sections at a first surface portion of the component; embossing a functional groove into the component at the first surface portion; wherein the functional groove is arranged spaced apart from the support groove at least in some sections; and wherein the functional groove is formed for partially receiving a second component for a substance-to-substance bond.
Methods for forming and tuning the durability of breakaway sections on a trim panel
Doors for motor vehicles include door trim panel assemblies having multiple door trim panels held together at attachment points. A door trim panel includes a weakened perimeter formed from a series of apertures in the panel, creating a predetermined breakaway point where the assembly will rupture in the event a load is applied. Methods for tuning the durability of a trim panel assembly include a repeatable cycle in which pins are selected and inserted in a mold at varying positions. During injection molding, the pins form apertures to create a predetermined breakaway point. Changing the size, shape, and location of the pins allows tuning of the durability and properties of the breakaway point. Injection molds have variable pin placement capability to facilitate the method.
