AIRFOIL APPARATUS FOR A SYSTEM HAVING A CONTROLLED INTERNAL ENVIRONMENT
According to an aspect of the present disclosure, an airfoil apparatus is provided which minimizes entry of entrained air into a system having a controlled internal environment, such as a corona treatment system, such entrained air resulting from a high-speed web moving into the system. According to another aspect of the present disclosure, the airfoil apparatus is rotatable relative to the system so that the airfoil apparatus can be adjusted to changes in the web.

ROLL END AIR FITTING ADAPTER AND METHOD OF USING SAME
A roll end air fitting adapter is couplable to an end of a cylindrical roll. The adapter includes an inner ring and outer ring defining a central opening concentric with a roll axis, an annular air channel extending about the roll axis, and a plurality of air passages leading from the air channel through the inner ring and/or the outer ring to peripheral outlet openings in an outer circumferential surface(s) of the inner ring and/or the outer ring. A compliant sleeve is disposed along the roll axis with the peripheral outlet openings between the end of the compliant sleeve and the outer ring so that the compliant sleeve overlaps the peripheral outlet openings. Supplying air to the adapter ring by the air source to force air through the air channel and the peripheral outlet openings facilitates sliding the compliant sleeve onto the cylindrical roll.
Display inserts, overlays, and graphical user interfaces for multimedia systems
A disclosed digital media device operational at user premises to receive media signals from a media source for presentation via endpoint devices such as a television display. The digital media device can include gateway and digital media management functionality and can be referred to as a gateway and digital media device. The device offers application services obtained over a wide area network and a user premises network. The digital media device may form a composite signal from the media signal and application service information, for example, for a composite audio and/or video signal for television type presentation to the user. The digital media device may receive a selection signal based on the presentation, for transmission to the application service provider device or to the media source. The media device also offers a GUI presenting a moveable arrangement of icons for selectively accessing application services.
Microwell array articles and methods of use
The disclosure provides microstructured articles and methods useful for detecting an analyte in a sample. The articles include microwell arrays. The articles can be used with an optical system component in methods to detect or characterize an analyte.
METHOD OF MANUFACTURING A DECORATIVE PART DECORATED WITH A LICHTENBERG-FIGURE
Manufacturing of a decorative part by providing a decorative layer having a first, electrically conductive surface and a second surface; bringing electrodes into contact with the first surface; and applying an electrical voltage between the electrodes so that an electrical current flows between the electrodes and a pattern is burned into the first surface. In an embodiment, the decorative layer is bonded to a lamination layer before applying the electrical voltage to the second surface. In another embodiment, the decorative layer is bonded to a lamination layer after the application of the electrical voltage to the first surface; and after the bonding of the lamination layer, the material of the decorative layer is removed from the second surface. In another embodiment the decorative layer has a pattern generated by an electrical discharge on the first surface; and the first or the second surface is bonded to a lamination layer.

Corona treatment system
According to an aspect of the present disclosure, a color sensor is provided for sensing whether a ground roller in a corona treatment system needs to be serviced. The color sensor is capable of detecting imperfections which have changed the reflectance level of the ground roller from a predefined level. According to another aspect of the present disclosure, if a determination is made that the ground roller needs to be serviced, then an alarm is activated and/or the operation of the corona treatment system is ceased.
MICROWELL ARRAY ARTICLES AND METHODS OF USE
The disclosure provides microstructured articles and methods useful for detecting an analyte in a sample. The articles include microwell arrays. The articles can be used with an optical system component in methods to detect or characterize an analyte.
Ozone adhesion process for insulating container manufacture
Systems and methods for improving adhesion of an insulating foam to a molded polymeric insulating structure through use of ozone gas for functionalization of molded polymeric surfaces of an internal cavity of the insulating structure.
