COVERS FOR ELECTRONIC DEVICES
The present disclosure is drawn to covers for electronic devices. In one example, a cover for an electronic device can include a substrate having an opening therethrough, or an outer edge, or both. A thermoplastic insert molding can include a metal oxide dopant, the thermoplastic insert molding positioned on the substrate. A paint coating can be included on the thermoplastic insert molding. A chamfered edge can be present on the substrate at a location that defines the opening, the outer edge, or both, wherein the chamfered edge cuts through the paint coating and partially through the thermoplastic insert molding to expose a portion of the metal oxide dopant at the chamfered edge. A metal layer can be formed using laser direct structuring masking a portion of the metal oxide dopant exposed at the chamfered edge. A second metal layer can be formed over the metal layer.

The present disclosure is drawn to covers for electronic devices. In one example, a cover for an electronic device can include a substrate having an opening therethrough, or an outer edge, or both. APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR INSTALLING A SCREEN PROTECTOR ON AN ELECTRONIC DEVICE
An apparatus and/or method for installing a screen protector on an electronic device, for example using a wet application process. The apparatus includes a support member for supporting the electronic device and a clamp mechanism for clamping the electronic device in a fixed position on the support member. A tack assembly is used to tack the screen protector to the electronic device. The tack assembly includes an actuator that, once actuated, causes a tack member to apply a force onto the screen protector which tacks the screen protector to the electronic device and prevents misalignment. Finally, a roller assembly is actuated so that a roller member moves across the screen protector to bond the screen protector to the electronic device and remove any excess liquid that may exist between the screen protector and the electronic device.
Roll-and-peel tool and method of installing a trim component using the roll-and-peel tool
A roll-and-peel tool includes a frame, a roller, two traction rims, a peeling wheel, and a trailer arm. A roller shaft is supported by the frame, and the roller is rotatable relative to the frame on the shaft. The traction rims are axially-spaced from one another with a roller midportion between the traction rims and the traction rims extending outward of the roller midportion. The peeling wheel is rotatable about a wheel shaft and has two traction hubs axially-spaced from one another and protrusions extending proud at an exterior surface of the peeling wheel between the traction hubs. The trailer arm connects the wheel and roller shafts so that the traction hubs interface with the traction rims and a gap is defined between the roller and the peeling wheel with the protrusions extending into the gap. A method of installing a trim component may be carried out with the tool.
Articles Comprising Polymeric Film Applied to a Substrate
A polymeric film or laminate comprising the same is applied to at least a portion of a surface of an underlying article to provide, for example, desired surface characteristics. To assist in such application, a polymerizable composition is coated onto at least one of the surface of the polymeric film or the laminate and the surface of the article. The polymerizable composition is then polymerized with the polymeric film or laminate positioned thereover to form a sufficiently polymerized interlayer between the polymeric film or laminate and the underlying surface in resulting articles. Ease of removal and/or repair of polymeric film and laminates comprising the polymeric film that are so applied is facilitated.

Window tinting tool
A tool for applying tint film to an inside window surface of an automobile has a unitary body with a handle portion and a downwardly depending neck extending from the handle portion to an elongate blade supporting portion. The blade supporting portion includes a bottom zone extending to a chamfered distal end. A flexible blade is attached to the bottom zone and the distal end of the blade supporting portion. The flexible blade includes a forwardmost portion that extends beyond the distal end of the blade supporting portion.
Window tinting tool
A tool for applying tint film to an inside window surface of an automobile has a unitary body with a handle portion and a downwardly depending neck extending from the handle portion to an elongate blade supporting portion. The blade supporting portion includes a bottom zone extending to a chamfered distal end. A flexible blade is attached to the bottom zone and the distal end of the blade supporting portion. The flexible blade includes a forwardmost portion that extends beyond the distal end of the blade supporting portion.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR PRODUCING AN AT LEAST TWO-LAYER COMPOSITE SERVING AS A LINING FOR A VEHICLE INTERIOR COMPONENT
A method for manufacturing a composite includes providing a first template including a cutout for a first layer of the composite, disposing the first layer in the cutout, and disposing a tablet, provided with an adhesive, on the first layer such that the first layer adheres to the tablet. Next, the tablet is removed, together with the first layer adhered thereto, from the cutout, and an adhesive is applied to a side of the first layer facing away from the tablet. A second template is provided that includes a cutout for a second layer of the composite, and then the second layer is disposed in the cutout. The tablet, together with the first layer adhered thereto, is disposed on the second layer disposed in the cutout of the second template, and the tablet is removed, together with the composite produced from the first and second layers, from the second template.
BONDING DEVICE AND BONDING METHOD
A bonding device includes: a supporting assembly, comprising a first and second supporting bodies arranged in a first direction, at least one of the first and second supporting bodies is movable in the first direction, the supporting assembly having an upper surface which faces a flexible substrate and matches an inner surface of the flexible substrate; and a stretching assembly, including a carrier film and a plurality of driving elements, a central area of the carrier film being attached to the inner surface of the flexible substrate, at least two of the plurality of driving elements arranged oppositely in the first direction, at least two of the plurality of driving elements arranged oppositely in a second direction, the plurality of driving elements are connected to peripheral portions of the carrier film, and stretches the peripheral portions of the carrier film to align the inner surface with the supporting assembly.
