Repair apparatus for material guide
A repair apparatus is configured to repair a hole in a curved wall portion of a material guide. The repair apparatus includes a patch body that can conform to the shape of the curved wall portion and a retainer that non-destructively holds the patch body in place on the wall portion over the hole. In certain embodiments, the retainers are magnets or straps. The patch body can be flexible so that it can be adjusted to conform to the shape of curved wall portions of various sizes and curvatures. The patch body can include a wear-resistant inner surface. In some embodiments, the patch body includes an outer shell and a wear-resistant inner liner connected to the shell. The liner can have one side that is unattached to the shell.
Tack and drag printing
A method and apparatus are disclosed. A method of printing onto a base includes providing a yarn from a material source disposed in a printing system. The yarn is an elongated continuous piece including a tagging segment and a reel segment. The reel segment is disposed proximate the material source. The tagging segment extends from a nozzle of the printing system. The method further includes attaching the tagging segment to the base and moving the nozzle away from the tagging segment after the attaching the tagging segment to the base. The nozzle is moved by an actuating system of the printing system. The moving the nozzle along the base increases a tension between the tagging segment and the material source. The tension in the yarn pulls the reel segment from the material source.
Glazing having switchable optical properties
A glazing having switchable optical properties is described, including a transparent substrate having an outer surface and an inner surface, a reflection layer on the outer surface and/or on the inner surface and a switchable functional element arranged on the interior side with respect to the reflection layer. The reflection layer contains a material having a refractive index n.sub.R of 1.6 to 2.5. The product of the refractive index n.sub.R and the thickness d of the reflection layer is from 250 nm to 960 nm.
Assembly method between a part made of metal material and a part made of organic matrix composite material; corresponding parts made of organic matrix composite material and assembly
An assembly method between a part made of metal material and a part made of organic matrix composite material, said method having a step of providing two parts, each including a surface to be welded, and the surface to be welded of said composite part is made up, at least partially, of an exposed portion of at least one metal insert which is partially embedded in said composite part; positioning said surfaces to be welded opposite and separated from each other; and projecting, at high speed, the surface to be welded of the metal part or the exposed portion of the metal insert, onto one another, to obtain high-speed clamping to one another and to obtain a weld between the exposed portion of the metal insert of the composite part and the complementary portion of the surface to be welded.
Segmented wind turbine rotor blade with welded joint
The present disclosure is directed to a rotor blade assembly for a wind turbine having a first rotor blade segment with a first spar cap segment and a second rotor blade segment with a second spar cap segment. The first and second spar cap segments are arranged together at an interface and are constructed of a composite material. Further, the rotor blade assembly includes a joint assembly at the interface of the first and second spar cap segments. The joint assembly is constructed of a first metal joint secured to the first spar cap segment and a second metal joint secured to second spar cap segment. Moreover, the first and second metal joints are welded together at a weld area.
REPAIR APPARATUS FOR MATERIAL GUIDE

In certain embodiments, the retainers are magnets or straps. The patch body can be flexible so that it can be adjusted to conform to the shape of curved wall portions of various sizes and curvatures. The patch body can include a wear-resistant inner surface. In some embodiments, the patch body includes an outer shell and a wear-resistant inner liner connected to the shell. The liner can have one side that is unattached to the shell.
WAFER BONDING APPARATUS AND WAFER BONDING SYSTEM USING THE SAME
A wafer bonding apparatus includes a first bonding chuck to fix a first wafer on a first surface thereof, a second bonding chuck to fix a second wafer on a second surface thereof facing the first surface, a bonding initiation member at a center of the first bonding chuck to push the first wafer towards the second surface, and a membrane member including a protrusion protruding from a center portion of the second surface towards the first surface, and a planar portion defining the protrusion on an outer region surrounding the center portion.
Methods for manufacturing elongated structural elements of composite material
Methods for manufacturing elongated structural elements are provided. Such methods provide composite material having optimal properties such as weight and strength which can be produced at much lower costs compared to conventional methods. Composite materials including such elements are also provided. In addition, commercial products incorporating such structural elements are provided.
Power inductor
In accordance with an exemplary embodiment, a power inductor includes a body, at least two bases disposed in the body, a plurality of coil patterns disposed on at least one surface of the at least two the base, respectively, and a connection electrode disposed on an outer portion of the body and connecting the at least two coils to each other.
Method for integrally bonding a cast aluminum part to a joining partner, and part
A method for integrally bonding a cast aluminum component to a joining partner. The method includes laser-treating a region of the cast aluminum component that is to be connected to the joining partner. The laser treatment is carried out via a pulsed laser system having a pulse duration of 100 to 200 ns, and an impulse frequency of 10 to 80 kHz. The method also includes integrally bonding the cast aluminum component and the joining partner.
