METHOD FOR MAKING A GAS-TIGHT CONTAINER IN ELASTOMERIC MATERIAL

A method for making a gas-tight container (1) in elastomeric material comprises: providing two or more separate elastomeric portions (2, 3), cleaning and/or roughening the gluing surfaces (6) of the gluing edges (5), applying an adhesive (7) onto the previously cleaned, degreased and/or roughened gluing surfaces (6), assembling the portions (2, 3) to form the container (1) and inserting between the gluing surfaces (6) a raw elastomeric tape (8) not yet cured, applying a cold pressure on the overlapped gluing edges (5), heating the overlapped gluing edges (5) to thermally activate the curing of the raw tape (8), cooling the gluing areas.

Membrane bearing device and membrane attaching apparatus

A membrane bearing device, a membrane attaching apparatus and a method for attaching a membrane are provided in embodiments of the disclosure. The membrane bearing device includes: a base plate, comprising a first bearing surface configured to bear a membrane; and a roller, which is rotatably mounted onto the base plate, and is configured to transfer and attach the membrane from the first bearing surface to a substrate onto which the membrane is to be attached, by rolling on the membrane.

IMPROVEMENTS RELATING TO WIND TURBINE BLADE MANUFACTURE
20170241401 · 2017-08-24 ·

Method of bonding a shear web (50) to a wind turbine blade shell (75) and the obtained blade, wherein the shear web (50) comprises a web and a mounting flange (56) oriented transverse to the web (50). The method involves: providing a seal (66, 68) on the mounting flange (56) of the shear web (50) such that when the mounting flange (56) is positioned against the blade shell (75), a cavity (76) is defined by the seal between the mounting flange (56) and the blade shell (75). The air of the cavity (76) is then evacuated and adhesive is injected into the cavity (76). The use of pieces (80) to keep the distance between the mounting flange (56) and the blade shell (75) is preferred.

DEVICE AND METHOD FOR SPLICING

The present disclosure relates to a method for splicing a web of packaging material, comprising: guiding the web of packaging material through a splicing device comprising one or more imaging devices, a slitter, and a sealing unit; acquiring a first set of images of one or more areas of the packaging material, storing the acquired first set of images, slitting the web of packaging material in one or more locations to form a tail end and a head end of a web of packaging material, aligning the head end and the tail end and superimpose one on the other in preparation for forming a splice, utilizing the imaging devices and the stored acquired first set of images to fine tune the alignment of the head end and the tail end, sealing the splice.

Method of removal and replacement of a tip section of a rotor blade

A method of mounting a replacement tip section to an exposed end of a rotor blade includes removing an existing tip section from the rotor blade to create the exposed end of the rotor blade, installing the rotor blade having the exposed end onto a holding fixture, assembling the replacement tip section about the exposed end of the rotor blade, positioning a bonding fixture about the replacement tip section, and curing the replacement tip section to the exposed end of the rotor blade.

Vacuum Knife Tool

Cutting of a material, such as a textile or film, can damage the material. A tool is provided that utilizes vacuum pressure near a knife edge to increase a result of the cut. The vacuum pressure passes through a base portion of the tool that has a recessed portion effective to distribute vacuum pressure to one or more apertures extending around an insert of a core portion. The one or more apertures align with a void between the knife edge and the insert allowing for the void to transmit the vacuum pressure through the tool to the knife edge. A machine horn may then cut the material at the knife edge and couple the material with another material.

Bonding apparatus and bonding process method

According to one embodiment, a bonding apparatus for processing a retained substrate includes a main body unit, a nozzle, a gas supply unit, and a substrate support unit. The nozzle opens on a face of the main body unit on a side that a first substrate is retained. The gas supply unit is configured to supply gas to the nozzle, to apply suction to the first substrate and to separate the substrate from the face of the main body unit. The substrate support unit is configured to support a peripheral edge portion of a second substrate provided in opposition to the first substrate with a predetermined gap.
